Hey, wands and fans are my SPECIALTY

What do you love so much about wands?

I can list off a million things, but very interested in your response! Never see guys use them - except to eat fire! Tried to post some pictures, to help you describe them, but the url doesn't work.

erm, i'll try and describe them but don't know how good it'll be...

not generally used for real magic (or fire breathing/eating), these magic wands are a spinny toy with a magic effect.
they are thin, ~1m long poles with nice rainbow spirals down the length so they look nice.
fishing line goes from centre of the wand to your finger.
hold the wand vertical and make a mixing bowl type motion with your hand flat out, palm facing the floor.
the wand does this mad poi isolation type movement, staying vertical and exactly out of phase with the rotation of your hand.

i saw the lady who makes them spinning two @ once.
and it was excellent.

i think dr lightning has one as does miss bams (although hers is broken and goes wobbly when you try and use it).

*Ahem*

Yes Miss Bams does indeed have a fully working one

Lightning purchased one when he was in London, but couldn't fit it into his case on his way home.......the Princess Palace was very happy with his loss

they really are fun you know.

It was given to her by her friend. That friend had been given it by a different friend. That person (friend of a friend) made it on Rathlin island next to the giants causesway up north a year and 4 days ago.

(I spent last w/e on the magical island tis fantastic)

You can also buy magic wands in the pound shop but they don't work. Some of them make cool noises though and have glowy lights though.

mike got his from a party @ jongleurs in camden called 'carnival twist'.

oddballs had a stall there and the magic wand lady was there selling her wares too

no fire on this one i'm afraid bender but probably only cos you ain't got your hands on one yet.

as far as i know, there's not a website but i reckon when people come back from denmark, we're more likely to get some decent answers...

ahh ok my slow yet full-of-useless-crap mind is getting the picture, but only at rate a bus window collects condensation from a midget with TB.

...so one application of said wand sets the wand spinning on it's axis vertically as it is connected to ya finger above it, whilst the hand that the finger may be attached to is turning, horizontally?

sounds sweet, *especially* about the bit about messin' with peoples heads...
:rubs hands:

ps. and yes, i used to think bam bam was male, and in 'not the pebbles'

Bet you could make a pretty good one with a couple of feet of kevlar rope with something like a length of wire coat hanger stuck up the middle, and a fine wire for the string.

May be tricky getting it balanced with fuel on it though.

Yeah, I was rather disappointed in 'The Divine Comedy'...

It was about Hell and I didn't find it funny...

Except the bit about people being eaten by the three-headed monster... ubblol ubblol ubblol
