I found this tutorial site on the 'net this morning.

it's a bit slow, but you can make out the animations if you squint.

enjoy!

*** edit ***

link is updated. it changed, somehow.. <img src=" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />

the individual moves that make up each combination movement are now individually linked from the lessons index.

my eyes be still squinting. [Eek!]

Hey y'all -
if you're looking for more info/instruction on aerial cartwheels (and associated other breakdancing moves), try:

breakdancing resources

and search the forums. There should be some good videos in there.

howwoward, cool idea! - i guess it makes me appreciate more the idea that every code out there has their own name for stuff, like in the way australian people call football 'aussie rools'

Thanks bender - I've been working on aerials for wushu for quite a while, and have yet to make any great progress. Sigh. Maybe practice will make perfect!

Nice work bender

Do ever use any sort of mats or pads when learning new acro stuff? If yes, where do you get them?
I've been getting much better at wacky DamageControlFalling(tm) but I think there are times where for me the psychology if nothing else of having a nice soft landing would be a big help...

yeah mate i learnt my acro on the safety of the blue mats and supervision of capoeira and gymnastics classes. I'll update the the kip ups with a proper description soon...

safety equipement = very smart, but nothing beats an accomplised spotter.

Cool Bender, your training has sure paid off well it seems. Are you still in to capoeira? Having a spotter (or two) is indeed very nice, although I've had that go pear shaped once or twice as well. Must get some mats sometime methinks. Never hurt myself yet, but would like to do everything possible to keep it that way.
Keep those Lessons coming mate, some of the best advanced staffing stuff I've seen online!

heh cool kyle! the reality is that nobody really dies performing acro, but bone breakage and disc slippage are unfortunately not uncommon, well, at least where i practice.
But it does help to be overzealous when explaining it to others, as it can't hurt to be too careful!
Probably the most dangerous factor when training is being surrounded by fit, attractive people in workout gear, or more specifically the complacency that sets in as you try to impress them!
