A.K.A "waist wraps"
Yes i am talking about staff.

So, anyone else doing it? Got any cool variations (and im not talking contact).

Think iv only got 2bt in front maybee 3. Not sure, id better go out and see right now.

Oh yea, thats only single long staff. cept single is kinda pointless cause u can always swap hands.

Its all just smoke and mirrors

1 and 2 beat butterfly waistwraps don't need to armpit skim (spin inside the arm) so long arms aren't a requirement.

other stuff that hasn't been mentioned:

its easier to start from both staffs spinning backwards to help with the waistwrap carry

it helps to concentrate on keeping the staff in the non-stretching hand well out of the way of the one that is stretching (pulling it round from front to back

keep dem planes as straight & parallel as you can, for surely wobbly planes are the undoing of the unwary waistwrapper

Bender...what's all this about me being plain naughty plain and dull yes, naughty....no never

Last night was the first time I've managed to pull off the double BTB WW, so I'm a jolly little one today.

Doing the ww with single staff is sooo much fun though. I normally start with the right hand side BTB WW, turning to BTB forward cross and follow to left hand side BTB WW to BTB backwards cross and follow.....thn I fall over cos I'm a little giddy (nothing new there then ehhhhhhhh).

Ohhhweee I just wrote a move in the move section....

That is so blatantly untrue (not even counting hyperloops )

*runs off into a corner to think*

ahh regarding the butterflyww, it seems that it was a move i kinda do already, but the use of the poi name threw me off!

butterflies tend to me give me mental images of holding a poi by one end, rather than a staff by the middle.

cheers, bigears!

Tempest, only just read your reply, am on hols backpacking round poland at the moment so only just got into an internet cafe

When you're doing he butterfly move, are the spinning planes exactly coplanar (like in the butterfly type move on my vid ) or at a slight angle (like the type of butterfly infront of the body or above the head) ? Tranitioning between the two is a real a** if one wants to avoid collisions.

Can't wit to see the vid

If im right in thinking that what i think is butterfly is butterfly then the move on my video that looks like a butterfly is at 2:45. But then i might be completely wrong about what people call butterfly
The move on video is not a real butterfly though, cos the staff spinning planes don't cross (at a slight angle) like in a normal "in front of body butterfly".
