okie, its nearly there well nearly here. 99 seconds of contact.
as far as I can understand, codec's are magic little things that help your video watching software thingamijig do its stuff.
They're a bit like little elves that make the video (a kind of moving picture) smaller, then it can be sent between computers, using modern modem technology a bit like two baked bean cans and a piece of string with a knot in each end.
Anyway, you need a little elf in each baked bean can, to act as a translator, other wise your putie isn't going to understand. understand.
So if you download the Divx codec from Divx.com. I'll get my elf to talk to your elf and everybodies happy.
Is that right bender?? I might have to ask me bender to explain that better, He understands this new tech-no-log-y thing. ________________________ I cant explain contact moves in words, it takes too long, longer than a 6.28mb download on a really slow modem. I'm slightly worried that it will seem a bit too much like "hey look at, me look at me"
but, its not. I don;t even like to post pixtures of me I've been asked for clips from quite a few people who gave up trying to decipher descriptions of contact moves, (words just wern't invented for this.) and this video is the only way I could think to do it. I think HOP really needs this. err so, umm. pretend its not me.
Ohh and its the first time I've ever done video editing, so its a bit hit and miss, but not bad for a first effort ok. go easy on me. I'll post the URL in next 2 days when its up.
Glass __ be
p.s. Don't tell the poi swingers, but theres a couple of the jedi set of moves in there: a 7bt weave w/o wrapping (a really rubbish ugly move) and a hyperloop and an impersonation of a goldfish using a contact ball.

Posted: glass, u be rigth about the essentials of divx! it's just an add-on to the standard media players you get for free, so that .AVI videos encoded with divx can be seen.
as for your tireless contributions on contact, it like the tyres of the volkswagon beatle that is contact twirling - you get it moving! beep beep.

Posted: thanks fot that Vdub thing i think. err but I still don't get how mobile phones work. without the string, its just magic, how does the elf still hear.
I mean can you imagine poi working without the string?? its just daft They'd be a ball. try to swing a circle and they'd just fall.
Is it just like an elf with really really good hearing like a mouse, or does the string really go into your ear and out through yout trouserleg then trail along on the floor behind you? and thats why you cant see it?
putting the no into technology.
