I'm looking to make a set of flags and some UV reactive streamer poi, but all the nylon material at the local fabricland apparently is not UV reactive. I'm kind of stuck for ideas as to where else I could get the stuff. For anyone else out there who's ever found this kind of material, where did you get it?

PS. I'll add a little disclaimer here to say that I did indeed do the ol' search thang but came with nada.

Some people in some fabric shops know little or nothing about their material, and less know if it's UV active. Therefore I recomend buying a portable UV light to take with you fabric shopping. If you live in a city there must be a few different fabric shops you can shop around in to get the best fabric at the best price.

Bright rip stop kite material is uv reactive and brilliant for commets. Bright parachute material is uv reactive and good for flags. Both are difficult to find in shops though. If you find a kite maker and parachute maker they will usually sell you a bit.

Are we nearly there yet?

Paddy, I used cheap, imitation chiffon that I then washed in Woolite.

Boy howdy does it! Just make sure that the Woolite in Canada uses phosphates. Not so great for the environment, but wow does it make your fabric glow!
