Wound up having another try with biodiesel last night, as one of our regulars brought a 7-gallon bucket of the stuff.I soaked my wicks in the stuff for about a minute, and had a really long spin--probably 8 minutes--with minimal smoke and stink. Hmmm, this biodiesel must be different. What I only remembered afterwards is that my wicks had been pretty well soaked in lamp oil from last week, so they were probably not absorbing much biodiesel. The combination of the two, though, seems to be pretty good.My second spin was with straight biodiesel, and it was smoky and stinky. Burning strong at the 5-min mark, I got so badly tangled that my safety had to put me out (first time ever for me, right chain wrapped over left wrist and hooked around itself, when doing a btb weave--no burns, surprisingly).

Laugh while you can, monkey-boy
