I really want to but I dont thnk I will have the money to go .I have heard word that there is going to be a similar event in south Tx. a week after burning man but by the same folks.Does anyone know if there is any truth to these rumors?

Goddess - I will try to make it to Fire Fabulon - but you know how things go on the playa - the best laid plans of mice and men...
Vaporloc - you are talking about the Texas region Burningman decompression party - happening at Recreaction Plantation from September 19th to the 22nd. Cover will be $25, which cover the camping fees there for 3 nights and not much else. It was a great party last year, with everyone still in their burningman vibe, despite it being the same week as the terrorist attack. Much fire play will be present, so be sure to join us!
Anyone interested who needs more info, email me directly - henize@intertex.net. I'm leaving for Burningman Saturday morning (Aug. 24) and won't be back till Sept. 3 or 4 though...
BTW, Texas also has the largest regional burn (also at Rec Plant, which is called Burning Flipside and happens over memorial day weekend - put it on your calender for next year, 'cause it rocks. It ain't (quite) Burningman, but it is 30 times more intimate and very much in the same spirit.

oh yeah - vaporloc, hunt me down at the decompression party and I'll help you with the introductions. I think I can dig up some Dallas area burners for you. Just ask around for Vance. It shouldn't take that long to find someone who recognizesd my name. I'm likely to be around the fire performers at night, and nearly all of them will know me for sure.
here is a webpage with a map to the site.
Plan to spend as many days there as you can - I promise you won't regret it (thursday night might be a little slow, but don't discount it on that basis, it will still be interesting). I'll be there friday and saturday nights at the very least, depending on work load - I'll probably have some catching up to do after a week in Nevada.
