Summer Spinnin'
Sunday chillin and spinnin in the sunshine
Every Sunday
Clapham Common

4pm until afterdark
Contact number for Dom: 07971 698454

After the beautiful success of PiP5 we're delighted to help keep the energy flowing through into the future. With regular events we hope more people can benefit from gatherings of kindred spirits. PiP has returned home to the North where they spin come rain or snow or shine! So, please welcome - Summer Spinnin'

If your can please bring your friends for chatting, toys for playing, blankets for sitting, cakes for eating, something for music & beats, and fire! These days are what you make of them, so bring what you expect to find.

Where exactly? Just a few paces west of the bandstand at the centre of the common is a lovely area where curvy ground, trees and bushes will shelter you from the rest of the world while letting you have enough room to play. Here's a map. Nearest tube is Clapham Common, and Clapham Junction train station is only a short stroll away.

Why Clapham Common? Because lots of people live nearby Also it's near central London, is very easy to get to, isn't too big to get lost in, has a lovely area for us, and it isn't a proper park, so the rules are not so strict.

Wasn't this every fortnight? Yes, it was, but this is proving popular and I'm hoping that as a weekly event people who were busy on the previous dates will be able to attend. This is also now the only organised, late night fire spinning session in London.

Why Sunday? Because on Saturday people tend to be busier. What's better than finishing a weekend off by relaxing in the park!

For more information email myself or Glass, depending upon whether you prefer blondes or brunnettes

There are also plans and ideas for a larger event of the summer, but you'll have to wait to see what becomes of that.

Sunshine and smiles to all
Dom

I would just like to give thanks to everyone that was there last night. It was my first time and it really rocked my face off. A completely enjoyable experience.
Everyone was very friendly, I had a great time spinning with all of you. I am still not sure as to when I'm leaving but I hope that I can make it to the next one. It was glad to meet so many talented artists. Thanks again!!

Bryan

I don't need no instructions to know how to rock!

Last night was amazing!
Can we spin like that every night? can we, please?
Just gotta say glass, we gotta keep working on that "two man double no handed neck wrap" cause I think we can pull it off more than once! And work on some more seemingly physically impossible stuff too!
And well done to Lolli too, you seem proud of your fire spinning, and so you should be! Keep it up!
And I think everybody will agree that those huge monkey fist fire poi, are taking fire to a whole new level! Well done those who played with them (names?) sorry guys but I go blank when it comes to remembering names! !
And, a huge *THANK*YOU* to Dom and friends for making this such a special gathering of wonderful people.

Until next time...

Thanks to everyone who turned up. Probably about 40 people in all, a perfect size. T'was a lovely, lovely gathering.

Lolli, now a fully fledged fire person, well done! Watching people spin fire the first few times is wonderful, thanks for letting us be there.

The bandstand! So cool! Very exciting! JoJo, I really can't wait to see those photos. 8 (?) of us spinning on that bandstand. The heat! 8 HOT fire spinners together just can't be legal!

Big wicks, very cool Ewan and Carrey!

I'll post some daytime photos on Wednesday.

Thanks to all for a wonderful day.

Oh, anyone misplace a purple Dube stage ball?

Sorry kids, work finally nobbled me this weekend, and really I couldn't get in the mood to socialise or swing, only 3 weeks to go and my project plan says 25 days of work to do, easy I'll coast in.

Hello to everypeeps that I met. glad you all had such a funky groovy time after dark.

Who was it who asked me to teach them a contact move just before the shower? sorry, I ran off before I had time to finish, ask me again next time and I'll show you some good stuff to do. but mostly I say just get a ball and a mirror and some good music and play (dance) with it, standing or sitting, thats the key to the most important stuff

lolli won't throw me a marshmallow
Tony, definately got to play with some more of that two person jedi crazy stuff.

Back to the joys of late night report writing.fun fun fun
finally understood fishtails with a staff today.
I wasn't here you aint read nuffin right.

Say, Bammers, did you bell that man about the video from Monday night?

How is everyone???

I am also bringin lots of fire twirling friends... Any way this time I wont forget my pink hat... I said I would bring it last time but I didnt, it stayed home alone all sad.... It want to spin fire too u know...

Anyways I am supposed to ask about music.... We (me and a friend) might be able to lug a stereo (boom box) to the common but only if we can have help with battery power and if everyone brings 1 or 2 favorite CDs...
So anyway do we have plans for music??

Whatever too tired to type anymore... Loads of love to all take care see u on sunday...

Unfortunately, I can't make my intended visit to clapham on the 16th, what with it being Father's day and all - I'm going to see a jazz guitarist with my dad instead.
I can't make the 1st one in July either since I'll be in Newquay, but I've set aside the 21st of July so I can make it to that one.
My wrist should be stronger by then and I might even be able to spin for more than 5 minutes at a time.

But there's no sense crying over every mistake. You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.

I guess Kelly is talking about my boombox which takes 6 D size batteries... (i've found some in my cupboard)

however i dont know how long i'll be there for, and my boom box does not make an appearance without me.... and its an end of term rush right now

however my boombox and myself will make a short appearance because we promised a friend the journey and because i NEED to learn some contact stuff...
