It will however make cats dizzy and cats throw up twice their bodyweight when dizzy.

When you consistently hit yourself at the same place, your timing may be off. Make sure your fingers point in the direction you want your poi to go and try to make sure you poi don't cross-over when they are at the peak or bottom of their trajectory.

Good luck.

took me ages to nearly get it.
and then more ages to actually get it.
but i'm not one of those ppl who do it for hours and hours until they've learnt a new trick - i'll pick them up for 10-15 mins (or less) and have a go at whatever i'm trying to learn, then get fed up and it'll be a day or two before i have another go - that way i'm learning stuff really really slowly

On forward BTB weave the most useful thing I learnt was to move my ankles out of the way.

i.e. don't focus on keeping the poi away from ankles, but lift each leg alternately out of the way.

Doing this I soon got BTB solid, and with further practice could do it without having to move my feet.

xxx Can you give a rundown on what fuel and equipment you plan on using? If you have no idea and that's what your question is, so be it... how far are you along in the planning process?

at this point i reckon you should go and find and read the fire safety and how to sections on HoP yourself before we get blamed for any omissions!

you NEED a clue... this is not a toy!

Just that whatever i could say has been said far better and in more detail elsewhere - charging into fire spinning when you're not sure how to light the wicks is kinda scary though. you need a safety, and to make sure you're not wearing the wrong clothes, something to put yourself out etc.

xx [/QB]If you have a mate with you get them to light them for you (Get fire put under one poi, light other poi off the first.) other wise I use a zippo, hold the poi as if your about to spin. light the left one first put the lighter down light the right off the left. That should do it.

Oh, and don't set fire to yourself or drink the parrafin.

Ugh...

But yeah, the BTB Weave has been confusing me for months now...

And as far as lighting up goes, just be sure you have a safety person, and wet towel, a fire extinguisher, or bucket of water or something, and make sure you're clear of anything you could damage with your poi.
