If you've got your Airwraps pretty solid, have a crack at BTL.
they're much easier than you'd imagine
go for wheel plane, spinning fwds or reverse.
you basically just Go For It.
not slow and calm... attack the move a bit and it will work.

well flashy move.. real crowd pleaser.

Yeaaa BOY! now thats what im talkin

I like bringing the poi upward from behind as the 1 in front goes down, and then trying to do spining back kick's as they untangle. Its simila to the spining back kick btl weave. Neither of them are really hard, but sometime's u can get hit in the

You should try getting the single leg wrap as the back 1 comes out.

Its all just smoke and mirrors

blimey

hold on... what happened to "without effort, thought or strength"...?

however, if you're talking both poi btl, i retract all slurs and replace them with longing looks of envy

funny you should mention that mr cole....cause if your poi are long enough you get a full thru wrap(all the way round the leg and thru again) with one, thru with the other...and airwrap....tadaaaa!

been keeping that one under wraps (sorry for pun, i' ve been associating with australians again )

i think dru is going for the "faster with less control" philosophy

humm, wheel plane, i.e. not wall plane, left poi btween legs from the front right comming passt yer ass to meet at the crotch, little airwrap and out without the left one hitting the ground? is that what you mean?

ive found btb hyperloops to be pretty easy.

And as usual Blue, I dont understand a word! you must show (and call) me.

Nick c wins the prize.

I though about this one and found that it looks really nice but has this cute little trick of exiting straing into your undercarriage.
its do able ok, you just have to be careful
Thought it would be fun to post it.
and if you "attack the move," it will attack you back
ah well it amused me.

But then I've practiced hitting myself in the balls with poi.

taniwha was robbed same prize-winning comment as nickc but two posts earlier

agree with tom - i don't get how it works in the wheel plane...?
everything i do btl is either wallplane or requires a turn.

"attack the move a bit and it will work ... if you "attack the move," it will attack you back."
that's some bloody self contradiction i say - and from the spinner with the most attention to detail i have ever known no less

wicked move though glass - for sharing

btw glass - i saw the construct spiral across me for the first time on sunday morning.
it was very pretty and went from under my right arm pit, over and spiralled out to my left.
why doesn't it do it every time try?

i knew that
explains why you said to try it in the wheel plane and to really go for it. you meany
i hope it backfires on you and next year @ glasto this is the move that we see all the kiddies spinning

as for the application of the unspoken techniques, i have to admit it was all a bit sesame street
i am so up for some proper construct exploration @ clapham

woohoo... I was practicing those BTL air wraps.. and I thought to myself... you know.. it's gotta be possible to do a butterfly of some kind back and forth between the legs... but I kind of ran into some problems with that (since I'm not that good with butterflies) and the next thing I knew I was doing a BTL weave of some kind... Of course, I use the same 5 bt rev weave that I love so much to do it.. and I'm thikning if I can do it this way then its gotta be possible to use the BTL to turn and come out facing the other way doing a forward 5bt weave...

Definately a crowd pleaser...

anyone else doing this or something similar... I've landed myself in a serious growth spurt move-wise and I really want to take advantage of it...

okay I've practiced this a bit more.. basically start out with a 5 beat rev weave... when the poi reach my right side they come up towards me right poi, left poi, right poi, left poi, right... at that time the left usually leads over to the right side... well instead of bringing it across to the left side, life your left leg and bring it through the right poi will follow the same path it being a weave and all.. the poi will do one rotation (the twist that puts you right poi leading, not the whole 5 beats) and comes back under the left leg right back into the 5 bt rev weave... now in order to get it to go under your leg and back out without jumping you will have to step forward a bit with the left leg while its in the air.. this puts you making the weave pattern under you leg.. work at it until you land the rhythmn and then begin to slowly turn a bit to your right side... eventually be able to do a weave to your left side that makes a loop behingd you bewteen the legs...

not a very good descrip.. I'll try and right a better one as soon as I understand a little more...

For you martial artists: If you do this move right, then you can sweep your left leg around in a round house fashion and thus make a complete turn out of it....

yes indeed, all between the leg moves require much "iron balls" training. take a bin of scalding hot rice and drive your groinal area as deep into it (i would say at least a few inches, but for some that may be *ahem* too much )as you can. repeatedly. for a few hours a day.
then you will be ready for the btl miracles that await you...

I don't understand all this talk of ball hitting... what the hell are you people doing... I mean I'm not perfect with my BTL but I ahve never hit myself there... I haven't even come close lol... I just aim the poi for under the leg as I so the same front to back motion (as one hand doing an alternating butterfly) or right to left ( as in weave motion).. none of which involve the groin getting in any danger...

I'm so confused lol...

rev - try a btl airwrap in the wheelplane with one poi coming up from behind between your legs.

a pretty much guaranteed ball breaker if you pull it off without a 180 spin at the right time.

other btl moves involve doing them in the wallplane (safest) or turning at the right time (which can be slightly dangerous).

been there done that partner....

see the only thing I can think that keeps me from having the problems you describe are this:
1) I naturally twirl low..most people keep there stuff aroud the chest and belly.. and I rarely have my hands above my waist when doing weaves (which is what I use to air wrap)
2) I have glowstix witht he bottom half cut off covered in electrical tape as my handles... this allows me to cheat and get my pivot point in places that I might night be able to get to for lack of being double jointed...

I think that's why I don't have a problem.. it doesn't take much for me to reach my hand under the leg a little and hold the out so that the pivot point is out front while my hand is in back... and the same on the other plane..

yeah I know its cheating... but I couldn't begin to think about twirling without my handles..

ooh yeah.. I figured out why... I don't have balls... I don't twirl fire and I use handles... so I guess that means I ain't got no balls to hit....
