Has anyone ever thought of making a "poiers" music album? A collection of music that's GREAT to poi to? What music would you put on it?



My favourite music..

I'll start it off with 'Bony Incus (the man with no name mix)', by Eat Static. What music would other people put on it?

My favorite is epic war music. Recently I did freehand with a song that just came out by lil wayne and bruno mars "mirror". Above all I like progressive and trance.

I like to spin to psy, especially goastuff. Psybient works as well as drumming. All hypnotic music works very well to get into a flowspace. But its a good thing to spin music that you dont listen too often, it opens some new doors and ways to do things.

Music is a very important part of spinning if you ask me. And like like music very much in ''civillife'' too. smile

I practice my diabolo while listening to psytrance mostly. Reefer Decree - Nightvision and Talpa- As u can hear are 2 tracks I always end up playing

If I'm feeling the need for adrenaline.... Disturbed or Godsmack.

If I want a slower, easier pattern music... Japanese drums, Doumbeks.. any form of drum circle.

For easy going stuff.. Yanni, Loreena McKennit, and Didgeridoo music.

All Psytrance, Shpongle, Ott, and Ozric Tentacles are my favorite though. Also, Liquid Dubstep, like Mt. Eden, Bassnectar, Blue Foundation, Druley, and The Widdler are the best to spin to. And i like to spin to Ska and Reggae, mainly Rebelution, Dirty Heads, and Slightly Stoopid.

Actually though it depends on my mood, sometimes I like that teenie bop Britnie Spears stuff to spin to, sometimes I like country rock and Enya, Enigma, Clannad........ Depends on how I feel.
For those who like drums Mickie Hart's Planet Drum cd/tape is amazing!!!!!!! He gathered some of the most reknowned drummers from around the world and went nuts! You'll love it!

So that's my less than two cents since I can never make up my mind!!!!

thank you for being the first to confirm that im not the only one that really spins poi to artists like metallica, godsmack, and rob zombie. i take dares from family members to try and get something good going to a specific choice of music and my uncles are for lack of a better word metal heads. (most interesting dare was to use something by slayer. . . was something of a nightmare) was quite a bit of fun playing around with "the man without fear" - drowning pool ft. rob zombie (in the daredevil soundtrack) as well as some alternative artists like three days grace and such.

so. . . Britnie Spears? definitely an interesting choice

it depends. my current favorites are nick drake, bachman turner overdrive and pet shop boys. offers a nice dynamic mix for spinning.

when i start juggling, though, i get nerdy and start doing my language lessons.

i love to spin to metal when i spin fire. white chapel, job for a cowboy, born of osiris, motionless in white things of that nature to me it just goes with fire better but when i spin with my flowtoys i like to spin to dubstep, dnb, some trance all depends on the mood im in

how has no one mentioned bands like the ethnic sounds like beats antique, budos band, and balkan beat box. these three are my go to spin tunes.

or for electronic gramatik (the street bangers volumes, not the dubstep albums, those suck), emancipator, conspirator, lotus, ratatat, etc.
also, dude at the top had it right with bluegrass (or newgrass) if you're in the right mood: yonder mountain, railroad earth, leftover salmon, etc, plus all the classics.s
