Posted:nah, there's far more people that are worse than you than there are better!

you can try it out for a day if you like - just spin in public and ask random people to have a go.
compare your skills to theirs and evaluate how many people are better and how many are worse.

seriously - i used to think like this all the time but like anything, there will always be someone better than you.

there's only one person that you should strive to be better than - yourself the day before.

yorkshire to harlow is barely a four hour drive and if you don't have a car its little more than three days' march...

Posted:worry not about other's skill;
that you are better than you were yesterday should only count!
firetwirling is lovely, and it's often hard to see how great your twirling looks when your nightvision is screwed by the whoosh whoosh whoosh of burning kelvar.
be proud, mate!

Posted:Learn some basic hyperloops and tangled buzzsaw's.....they're relativly easy to learn and will do wonders for you spinning......

and give yourself some time....spinning is demanding when it comes to commitment....so if you use poi to relax and follow your own natural paste of learning ,it will come.............
Rushing it wont work....

and who cares if anyone is better anyway....they are here for a reason you know......to learn and be motivated from...

Poi is a personal thing.....(for me it's meditation too)and NOT a competition ......
and if you get stuck in the same old fountains or something...download a video.............that will keep you busy......Nothing is like a move you 'discovered' on your own but we all get stuck sometimes......

you use your arm when you spinn....but for me it's a mind game.....

Posted:um coleman, strange that twirlers think alike! I bet that in a blind study, all of us would probably get lost in the same maze.
mice are scary.
