I just learned to do the BTB weave and am still a little shakey with it but I cant really think of a way to transition into it. I can only do it if I start it with both my hands behind my back. What are some of the easy transitions to BTB weave?

Let's turn those old bridges we crossed into ashes.

The most easy transition is from waave or low weave.Try do low weave side to side, one hand do one beat BTB and the second hand do one beat on the opossite side..other transitions are possible when you try all in infront posssition.

good times thats what it is (behind the back = btb, check out the lessons for more if need be, have a nice day )

I've gotten it so I can do a windmill on one side, drop into a reverse btb weave, and now I want to exit into a windmill on the other side. Connect that with a weave in front and I have a fountain right?

BTB Butterfly ==> Ankle wrap ==> BTB Weave?! Yikes... gimme 6 months to learn each and I'll be there in a year and a half.

Could have been the comment made to dark dnb ??? Just a thought.

I like to go from a 5 beat forward weave and turn straight into the btb weave.Or transition from a reverse weave straight into the btb weave.

Though I know a video on this site that will help.

I'll be right back

This guy has been my biggest influence not because he has loads of moves or because he does a lot of advanced stuff but because of how smoothly he transitions from one thing to another.

I like to turn into it. leave one hand in place turn 180 as you swing the other hand around your body. If you are turning to the left, then leave your right hand in place, and turn your body left as you bring your left hand around in a 360 degree horizontal circle into btb weave

we eat and we drink and we smoke and we try!

Hey poiaholic,

Jo is a really smooth poi spinner (and my partner in crime) but please don't worship the ground he walks/spins on....

...its usually really sweaty and smelly.

oh yeah, just so my post is a little bit helpfull...

I like to start from a split time low turns and arc one arm in a long arm to bring em together.

Lots of slinky choices as to what to do but it might be helpfull if you groove out of the btb weave in different ways and then just reverse them, i found it easier that way. but then i am a bit backwards

It makes no nevermind to me,Jo is god and worshipping sweaty, stinky ground to honor his poi mastery is worth the price.

from the forward weave, turn around into the BTB weave, and out again

i like going from the reverse weave in front of you, bringing your right arm over behind you and bringing your left hand back a bit,so your hands start going into a weave naturally then it's just a sense of bringing your hands together on each side....

i hope that made sense.......

Hahahahahahahaha!!.......

Poiaholic, you are a top man. The easiest move to go BTB with is just having the poi parallel at your sides, spinning backwards in split time. I usually use the reverse weave. When you can do BTB weave in both directions you can turn as you take it btb to disguise the transition. If you keep turning in and out of btb it can be a real headf**k for people to keep track of what you're doing.

Don't listen to Tempest, I've been told he felates goats.
