My two best moves - 'twirl twirl ouch' and 'twirl twirl tangle drop' are starting to make me despair!

I would be out there practising but my sister's little kids just came round and started running underneath my poi and I didn't want to invent a 'twirl twirl CRACK hospital' move. Bah.

The problem is doing anything at all left handed! I had a hell of a job even getting my left hand moving right in butterfly moves. That arm seems to work independantly to the rest of my body - it just does its own thing, and then I smack my poi into my arse or (worse) my tits! And it *hurts*

What can I do?!

I'm very very new at this, and trying to learn chasing the sun, which was easy as to the right - but, ohmigod, the pain when I try and do it the other way!

Any ideas? Other than developing a higher pain thresh hold?

Cheers!

As Gary Player once said, the more I practice, the luckier I get.

Keep at it, I don't know of any quick fix, not a lot comes easily sometimes. Maybe when trying something new always practice with your left hand alone first....

I live in a world of infinite possibilities.

Cool

You'll find as you go along that every now and again something cool and new will just click. It'll be like, wow, what did I do before this? New moves just appear and it's great

PK you are a putz.

What are you using for poi?If you make a pair out of some old socks they hardly hurt at all when you hit yourself.

I tried old socks but they didn't seem to spin straight - kindof a wonky shape?

I'm using tennis balls at the moment.

Just keep going hunny-- It might help if you do only concentrate on one hand at a time.. you need to edjucate your brain for the different moves.. one of these days it'll just click in.. and that'll be it.. off you go..

If you ever throw your poi down on the ground infrustration (as I have many a time) please pick them up and try again.. and if it still doesn't go the way you want try again and then stop.. but never walk away in a huff..

I honour you as an aspect of myself..

You are never to old to storm a bouncey castle..
