Has anyone else played around with waist wraps using extra beats instead of the standard 2b-circle-2b-carry move? Instead start with a four beat move on one side, unwind in front of you, reverse four beat on the other side and then do what seems like a windmill instead of the usual carry back... although I've not got enough space here to be able to figure it out properly.

Is this a waist wrap with extra beats or am I imagining it? Either way, it certainly seems easier to me than the normal waist wrap for some reason, and it's a lot more obvious working out the various possible ways it can go

It's the five-beat movement on the right side... ie your right hand crosses over your left to follow behind your body and your left then leads in front of you where they uncross. However at this point I need to have my poi on me to work out where my hands go on my left side and which hand is doing the cross

this was briefly discussed here.

as far as i can work out they should be possible with the carry still in place but i will defer to the keyboardaphobic one until i have actually got these working.

Apart from that I have no idea what your talking about. Except that I'd like to try them one day. I'll have to go find Glass or Tempest methinks.

Yes you can do extra loops in waistwraps, just like you can in any follow time move.

e.g. Extra-loop in cross-follow (=5 beat weave)
Its all just names. play with the moves not the names

And you can do the carry in waistwraps arms crossed (but its ugly), or open (normal).

I wouldn't call any of it 4 beat.

Your basically getting into the area of poi "its all one move".

There are a lot of really lovely WW variations to explore, go play, or come find me and ask, then you can type them, I'm tired of typing moves.

Have you tried stick?
You're always safe with a good old stick.
