right too much happening in other threads right now so a new thread for this one.

4 Beat TTN: [reverse]

right as a start with the regular TTN if you watch how you do it, it looks like your poi are going to wrap on your opposite arm so you push them through.
Right as you get to this stage, push through when your hand has gone under and then doubled back over the other hand, then repeat with the other hand.

4 beat TTN video. 773kb

3 beat can be done with either left or right hand, the combination makes the 4 beat.

*lol* Dom taught me TTN up in Kensal Green one night, but I figured out the 4 beat myself

You can split-time a TTN too, in which case it is more like two lots of 1 1/2 TTNs, but adds up to something quite different from a 3 beat!

PK, it looks like you are only doing half of the split time ttn. I'll bet, if other half can be done at the same time, you would have something truely mind boggling

Dio showed my the 4 beat ttn a few month ago, except he thought it was 3 beat, I think he was doing something simmilar to the split time though, so maybe it was a 3 beat, but I'm not sure.
I'm going to go find him and get this figured out...
I think I do something similar to the split time ttn(3 beat)

this is all so complicated.

ok, I think I got it now. When we do just one half, you get 3 beat (it looks split time), but when you make it symetrical it becomes a 4 beat and in same time. Is that right?

you got that right.
split time is 3 beat, because there is no 2 beat split time, that would work would it! but as you point out it's one sided, and can be done opposite to, so when you do it as a weave varitation, you have to learn al 4 ways of this move to be able to make turns left and right. this make sense to you?
i'v been spending a lot of time thinking and playing with these, so i can get down in text full descriptions.

4 beat isnt the above with a beat with the other hand.
4 beats is 4 beat same hand positions as the split time 3 beat but with both hands. and the move is same time.
i have one question for you dan, so in your mind does this make a 4 beat split time possible? no i dont think you can that would make 5 beat right? and if that is possible its going to be extremly difficult to get that many beats in to a TTN becasuse your arms are gonna hve to wrap around each other further to avoid the other poi. that wont leave much if any room to play with.

No, I don't think it is IMpossible. If you can do a seven beat weave without wraping, you can do a 5 beat ttn. In fact, I think if you "simply" do the split time symetricaly it will be a 5 beat.

Ok, well these things aren't exactly simple. It takes wicked control to be able to go inbetween split time and same time at will and perfectly.

Just saw your split-time TTN vid, there is another half. A normal split time bf has your hands side by side. The TTN takes (in your video) your left hand under your right. Then you bring them back side by side. Now, you can also do this by slipping your right hand under your left.

Counting the beats, you end up with 6. 3 for each side.

Actually, you can do the same thing with your 4 beat ttn (same time) to give it 6 total. Just wrap the other arm as well.

the split time i do in the vid is a 3 beat, one one side, if you mirror it on the other side you get the opposite, when you place both simultanious you get 5 beat spit TTN.

I can do the split time, symetricaly. So, that means I am doing a "5 beat split time ttn"!?!?! How exciting! It doesn't seem like that many beas, but then again, It is moving to fast for me to count it. So, I'll bet it is 5 beat.

damn this move is getting confusing.

so the theory is.... you have 2 beat same time, do it split time you added a beat.

so what happens if you mirror the other side>?

do you add 1 beat? 2 beats? [as i thought] or is jaden right added 3 beats to make it a 6 beat move?....
jaden i see where your coming from.... its been a hectic week and my head cant get round this one.... i can do it, but too head fucked to count.

with draw above post....

i think its only 4 beat if you mirror either side. your only pushing through for 1 beat extra.

I got the reverse 4 beat ttn but I'm struggling to get the forward 4 beat. Does anyone have any tips or comments on this or at least say it's possible (I'm sure it is) so I don't give up on it...

err.. only keep going? You'll get it eventually - I think I can just about do that, but I can't count so I know naafink.. I can do the split times both ways and something kinda 4 beaty one way - but I keep hitting my self in the head (broke my glasses a few days ago - d'oh) so I'm gonna keep trying..

Hi, just want to clear something up for my brain. Is this a 5 and 6 beat ttn without any speed changes and wraps?

If so can anyone explain it properly for me please.

ok Mr Peeks,

Has Rob really swapped your brain this time?

I discussed it with my cat for nearly an hour and it cant be true, 6 beats. really?

you can count cant you?

Whether i do a split time or same time ttn, all i get is max of four beats without either wraps, letting go of a poi, seperating or changing the speeds of the poi.

please rephrase or re explain PK

And this is for Nancy
