Posted: Does anyone out there know which of the poi moves are used in Tahitian dancing? I did a search here and through the internet and found nothing I just really want to know cause I have a friend who wants to teach me the dance if I teach her the moves with poi. HELP ME!!!! Molly
Posted: Thank you for the help , But it doesn't look like they actually have books just on the poi. I have a lost friend that knows hawiian poi and thought I might ask her if I find her, if you are also interested I will let you know what moves are traditional. if you find anymore I appriciate it. I saw the one in detroit, but alas no money or time. I did e-mail them to find out if she would tell me the traditional moves, but they have not written me back if you find anymore, let me know, I will do the same for you. Molly
I haven't found Polenesian Poi in New York City and I'd love to get the history/culture aspect of it. I got firetwirling streetkids up to my ears, but no actual traditional poi. I'm still passively looking...
Well, shall we go? Yes, let's go. [They do not move.]
