This space is for all those funksters busy improving their technique by learning new moves - made-up or traditional.

Tell us all about it! We love hearing about our fellow poiers/staffies/misc. toyers succeeding with new things biggrin

It's just hard to keep up with it all sometimes, so if we keep it together you'll be certain to get a little feedback.

here a pat on the back in advance from me

btb poi shower - badass move!
good on yer rossco biggrin

but...

poi fountains

that's a bit ambiguous - is that juggling type fountain (2in1 hand) or clubswinging fountain (fwd-rev 3bt weave in a big wallplane circle)?

and i learnt the above the head airwrap thing (a.k.a. flaming halo) too - feels right good doesn't it! biggrin

beth - think 2 ball shower and do it with poi instead smile

well the fountains are exactly the same as showers but in butterfly, you still throw with thr right and catch with the left and pass the poi to the right, if that makes sense.

and i havnt nailed behind the head as an airwrap yet (but am about to go and practice), mines more from an oliloop taking it around your body and behind your head, so it almost kinda like some hyperloop flower thang! biggrin

hopefully now you understand why i dont post in poi moves very often. rolleyes

that's cool!

and the hyperloop behind the head thing sounds mental.

Name: Double Snake Weave

Basic move Weave
De Plane: Wall plane
Beats: ups smile
Technique: Snake

Firs I found pretty nice move, to do double snakes with Butterfly,
now I found that its possible to do double snakes with Weave,
just to realize and learn backward snakes.
To find the difference between, Full Snake and snake and that the difference is where the snake start.
Than start with simple Weave and than wall plane straight arm to prepare for double snake, one forward one backward to turn after.

G'damn that was a though one..
managed the reversred one for months, but didn't quite get the forward one.
Still hitting my legs pretty bad, but it's all about details now, before it sits perfectly..

Even better i taught my daughters (who are11and 14)the 3-beat weave, windmill, and butterfly over the weekend.Man, they learn quickly these children, don't they?Even my 6 year old son is doing the butterfly .

lots of poi showers...

regular ones both ways (same direction, clockwise-> left hand throws, right hand feeds. opposite for countercolckwise)
antispin ones clockwise (sketchy as hell-right hand throws, left hand feeds)
underhand poi showers clockwise
underleg poi showers clockwise

powering horizontal hyperloops for 5+ spins
airwrap with right hand UTL, release right poi, tapback, catch.

Oh, well if he was sleeping, than i would think he was me, because he is blue, and I like to sleep. but if he is dead, then it can't be me, because that would just be silly.

Been playing with a bit of anti spin and ways of getting into it...

and nailed reverse hyperloops at last.

Crossarm inverted fountains biggrin Cheers to duballstar for the idea - and if he's reading I don't think you need a watermill - although it seems to work by turning the wrong way! Need to figure out exactly what's going on!

o.O what would you need a watermill for in a fountain? the tricky part should be the bringing it back at the bottom of the forward weave side.. for example if you are doing a clockiwse fountain.. when the left hand swings under the right arm pit (twisting in the back) try and leave your right forearm twisted like it was coming over shoulder with the wrist at the highest point but the arm as low as you can take it.. this gives you something to aim for with the left poi.. try to get the left poi to wrap a little on the right wrist.. that way you can pull it like a thruwrapped inversion when you twist your right forearm from back overyour shoulder-like, down into the inversion, to pointing behind at hip level.. (since the fwd crossarm inversion pushes back out to the same side its on.. ) and lead to the front as normal..

once you get the hang of it you wont need to thru-wrap.. its a weird little roll.. whihc will come in handy learning the next level up inversions.. so kudos when you get it..

sorry for the poor explanation, but maybe something in there might help..

I learned some new inversions today too..

I just HAVE to tell you!!!

I have NEVER in my life spun socks cos I started with long ribbon poi and then to glowies and then fire and I just didn't 'get' socks though it looked cool when other clever people did wrappies and all that. I just felt stooopid with them. But lately I've started to wanted to try (inspired by Ry)
WELL!!!!! ubblol ubblol
Tonight I took some out with me when I went dance to an African band and felt all loose and happy and went outside to cool off and had a play in the park and GUESS WHAT!!!

For the first time I did some sort of airwrappy thing that I wouldn't have a clue what it's called and it's probably a weed not a flower and a perversion not an inversion BUT it wrapped itself up and unwrapped itself and i could do it both sides and it was FUN!@!!!!!!OI#*$&*#(Q#
