This space is for all those funksters busy improving their technique by learning new moves - made-up or traditional.

Tell us all about it! We love hearing about our fellow poiers/staffies/misc. toyers succeeding with new things biggrin

It's just hard to keep up with it all sometimes, so if we keep it together you'll be certain to get a little feedback.

here a pat on the back in advance from me

That Yuta antispin butterfly buzzsaw flower thing!

Meteor is like poi but with the 2 handles stuck together, so 2 weights on the end of a rope. Have a search!

Edit: I'm completely addicted to butterfloops now, I've got 3 of them down now, just working on the 4th. So much fun!

Spin, bounce, be one with the world, because it is yours to enjoy...

Concetric flower - Poi butterfly, hands alternate long arm. More about flowers comming soon.

Explanation:

Concentric flower(Wheel plane)

Combination of two flower routines.

1) Long arm BTB Weave full flower(3 steps)

This can be done from wind mill to the first 'vertical'

half flower behind your back. Than you continue BTB

to the second 'horizontal' half flower and finsh

the first part with third 'vertical' half flower behind

your back.

->reel(shoulder & hip one) to front half(transition)

2) Long arm Weave full anti-spin flower (3 steps)

First two 'vertical' foils with anti-spin. Than you

continue to the secont 'horizontal' two foils with

anti-spin and finsh two 'vertical' foils with anti-

spin.

(here you can continuously repeat routines)

Part of advanced flower thread Im going

to write soon.

buzzsaw hyperloop wrist stops (change buzzsaw hyperloop directions) - can't do them every time though :/
Antispin-ish butterfly buzzsaw weave! easier done than said!

I learned soooo much at firedrums, met some amazing spinners (musashii, icon, dan, dave, sooo many others) and slept entirely too much smile

I learned turning waist wrapped reels, the left side took my a another weeek longer then the right side did. Now to learn the entire sequence in reverse. BTB 360 weave on both sides. Butterfly arms with butterfly poi, poi are antispin in both hands, I like this, I like bitterfly time poi;arms follow time in reverse. I really want to learn long arm / waist wrapped flowers- hybrid that is on a video around here. Damn that was sweet.

dont make peoples heads turn, give them whiplash.

Here's a fun one for you to try.

Get the poi spinning opposite directions in start position (left forward, right backward) with a legwrap.

Next, when the poi come to the top, switch your hands and just cross in the regular figure 8 pattern. This seriously does not feel like it should work, but the they don't hit each other as they cross.

Just something that I stumbled across one day.
The reverse of this trick (left backwards, right forwards) feels even wierder because you have to cross as they reach the bottom.

buzzsaw roll
some wibbly stuff
matrix corkscrew (or bth corkscrew or whatever... watch blackandblue and youll see what i mean)
corkscrew-> one hand btb, other in front in floor plane->tangle->release poi that was btb.
btb crosser->throw from one hand->tapback->catch btb (working on catching btb crosser)

maybe this belongs under "things i left behind", but for some reason i never thought of non-split-time same-arm butterfly wraps. i mean i do them on legs, necks, "etc" all the time, but one-arm? crazy. i tried them one-handed and it worked for a second, but i'm not trying that on fire any time soon. lol.
