This space is for all those funksters busy improving their technique by learning new moves - made-up or traditional.

Tell us all about it! We love hearing about our fellow poiers/staffies/misc. toyers succeeding with new things biggrin

It's just hard to keep up with it all sometimes, so if we keep it together you'll be certain to get a little feedback.

here a pat on the back in advance from me

Alright I now know:
Butterfly flowers
Weave flowers
3 beat weave forward
3 beat btb forward weave
butterfly
giant butterfly
alternate butterfly
btb butterfly
1 handed butterfly (with both left and right hand)
basic idea with hyperloops, but I don't pull my socks tight enough every time to do it really nicely.

its a good start biggrin

can i really suggest you learn everything backwards now, and turning between, this is a far more important part of poi than hyperloops.

have fun!

Well, I didn't realy learn a new move but I did my first real poi spinning *bounce*. After seeing the beautiful weather outside I decided to sew a pair of sock pois and try it out and well, it worked ... mostly. Now I'm sitting inside (it's a bit toooo hot) and cooling a bruised shoulder biggrin I shouldn't have used my nearly 200gr. contact balls (don't worry, I didn't use acrylics) for weights on the poi. Now I changed those for two small, also selfmade beanbags and the pois are fine ^^.

Wooo hooo! I've mastered going from the butterfly to a mini-butterfly to the between the legs butterfly and into a poi somersault! I've found that the under the leg butterfly is an easier way to transition into a poi somersault that just bending over into it. weavesmiley

It didn't make any sense why I couldn't do a onehanded cartwheel whilst spinning the staff..... I had to prove them wrong!.
And I did.

4 beat weave. Almost got the hang of the 5 beat as well but I can only do two trips before wacking myself (for me to consider that I learned a move I gotta be able to do it for a good 5 min).

wow just had a pretty productive one and a half hour poi-practice:p

finally learned corkscrew and windmill clockwise (about time because corkscrew counterclockwise was my first move)

and reverse 4 beat weave (only the right side the other one still needs some practice:p)
