Coaster wheel smile,... so hard to describe.....ok,

The basis:

Body stay is wall plane, but the hands move towards you.
Stop Poi and let tham touch your both wrists.
Let twist em than with heads in the middle, like big
wheel in lunapark, for a while.
You get double wrist wraps, with lot of fun than smile

(It remind mi one finger game with string in a ring)

i haven't posted properly in here in ages cos can never remember what i knew before or could and couldn't do. anyway though, today i *think* i've started getting: antispin flower turns (snap miss fluffster) but not yet in butterfly, a 'proper' 5bt straight arm butterfly weave (might already have had this at some point), beginning to understand hyperloops 'properly' and have even started being able to power them an ickle bit (hoping for continous + transitions eventually but no promises yet), a new throw and catch into waistwrap...

other than that have sorted out a few bits an bobs to do with extended turns from various places and other basics, and generally just had a good spin! biggrin weavesmiley

there are a LOT of posts.... and I'm finally registered on HOP... ive been spinning glowsticks for almost 5 years now... near chicago and i STILL cant seem to figure out anything but a 2 or 3 beat weave... forward.... btb moves still perplex me and i can do all my tricks forwards and backwards xcept for windmills. i will be picking up a set of fuzzy poi and the vids soon i hope it helps... i have a "new" wrap i made up... although i may have just not seen it before... start in a forward weave and wrap around your left wrist (while on your right side) with your right hand poi, and wrap the other (left poi) around your right elbow at the same time... now you reverse direction, or you can turn and stay forwards.... if it hasnt been done it should open up a few variations for longer weaves for you vets out there wink

oh.

well, i'm using the term loosely to describe a few things that look like that.

a) tangling then entering strainghtjacket(requires isolated tangle and fast straightjacket hug turn)
b)getting a dynamic airwrap when arms are already straightjacketed(hardest)
c)using straightjacketed arms and gilligans, and pretending you can knot your arms too.

better?

ummm.... lots of stuff...

1. crosser->BTL with one poi->other side crosser
2. reverse BF hyperloops
3. whip catches
4. reverse BF hyperloops->throw->tapback->whip catch
5. BTB inversions (sketchy)
6. corkscrew throws
7. corkscrew hyperloop->weave hyperloop
8. hyperloop turn (fwd->bwd) without untangling
9. BTB UTL windmill getting cleaner...

that's it...
and dammit bluecat.... how did u do those SJ tangles?? i've already given up on SJ as no one that doesn't poi likes them and it hurts after 2 mins of practicing...

blue- you don't find 'a' harder than 'b'? I mean the exit on 'b' can be a monster, but 'a' imo ismuch harder.. but maybe that's discussion best kept to a thread.. thnks for clearing up the confusion..

more throws:
half spins on each side out of weaves - all directions smile
half spin followtime shoulder throws
and i discovered suicide wraps are infinitely easier with double ended poi

went on a mini vertical reel exploration - offsets make for some nice variation here.

Figured out this weekend:
5 beat reverse weave (finally!! the left side of that has been a PITA)
butterfly weave
single hand butterfly and btb butterfly (with sock poi for now)
butterfly turns
various TNT combos, including this neat feeling TNT that has the arms constantly wrapping around each other(a lot like what the last beat of the 5 beat weave feels like). can do it in reverse TNT smoothly - working on making it work in forwards (anybody know what i'm talking about?)

Been a fun weekend smile

So, I got a few more stalls working nicely, and a bit more antispinny flowery stuff cleaner.

All I have to do now is get my spaccy right hand to do things as well as my left!

I can finally do a 7 beat weave (it was a tricky one!) It still needs improvement though.
& btb 3 beat weave both forwards and backwards pretty smoothly.
still trying those hyperloops...

vertical reels were hard last night but it meant i finally got round to learning more bits of btb waistwraps (how many years has it been...?) rolleyes

there's only one i can't do now (clockwise poi, top carry).

as a consequence i inadvertantly learnt fwd-rev 3bt weave btb in wallplane and i found i can get extra circles in a few of the positions too now
smile

gotta keep raising that bar just though - waistwrap goal is now: full 4bt ww, in all directions.
