This space is for all those funksters busy improving their technique by learning new moves - made-up or traditional.

Tell us all about it! We love hearing about our fellow poiers/staffies/misc. toyers succeeding with new things biggrin

It's just hard to keep up with it all sometimes, so if we keep it together you'll be certain to get a little feedback.

here a pat on the back in advance from me

[edit: as rob just said - damn i'm slow wink]

josh - if you can do wallplane cascade too you are just a couple of steps away from wallplane mills ubblove one of my dream tricks with clubs.

i have learnt nothing new but on the path to improving my 5b cascade i caught 6 out of a 7b flash.
i have a distinct feeling that may be the subject of my next post here... biggrin

Finally got the alternating TTN stall down pat.

Made up what I have so far dubbed "contact stalls" for horizontally stalling weaves and forward butterflys.

Double BTL butterfly carryovers with optional turns.

Cross over weave turns.

Direction alternating TTN.

Got started on learning counter weaves but its 5am and I must sleep before I overload... Much was learned today.

Let's turn those old bridges we crossed into ashes.
We'll blaze a new trail,
and torch the rough patches.

eek and hug and biggrin for 8

i added shootouts caught penguin and thrown back in as a backcross.
it fits into millions of tricks and makes them look right different - one of the few things that i could use from sean mckinney's huge repertoire smile

This week i plucked from the infinity of mathematical posibilities:

left foot to caspar (finally), shuv-its where neither end of the staff touches the ground at any time (cheers whoever it was who made me think of trying that (Dragon7)), and all manner of ankle pinches. And some interesting leg climbing contact.

YAY YAY YAY!

The behind the back FORWARD weave...I can go from left to right to left to right and back again without messing up...but after about the 3rd cross over, BAM. I just need to tidy it up and Practice Practice Practice. You all have no idea how long it's taken me to get this one. I'm a slow learner.

OH...though I DID also get the hyperloop from the weave, on one side, into the buzzsaw, and out on the other side...it's not perfect, but I've got it.

AND...my isolations are much better....but still far from perfect.

*takes a deep breath* biggrin WAIT until MAND SEES!!!

wavehello Just started spinning a week and two days ago, never done juggling or staff or anything.

Can now do:
3bt
Reverse 3bt (better)
Corkscrew
Some kinda 4bt corkscrew weave
Continuous turning weave untill diizy and fallover ubbloco
Something based on that corkscrew weave but with vertical planes, one infront, one behind the head help
Last night started to get 5bt pretty smooth after trying for several days.

Was most pleased with the corkscrew weaves as I hadn't (and still havn't) seen these done anywhere, just thought they should be possible so tried them. ubbidea biggrin

Poi ROCKS! weavesmiley

Hmm... Didn't mean to sound so bigheaded ubblol
Oh well rolleyes

BTB weave. Not sure if its forward or reverse.... is it reverse if I'm reverse weaving and I step infront of the poi so they're behind me? Well I just nailed that one, and turning 180 so it goes from one to the other (still sketchy.)

Ok dunno the name for this one:

butterfly on left (1bt)
weave right hand across
weave left hand across
upsidedowny butterfly on right (1bt)
and back again

The guy who told me about it called it an "iffy" but what is the official HOP name?

OMG i need to try 5bt behind the back, thats blatantly well easy non? (Will report back with progress.)
