Tell us all about it! We love hearing about our fellow poiers/staffies/misc. toyers succeeding with new things biggrin

It's just hard to keep up with it all sometimes, so if we keep it together you'll be certain to get a little feedback.

finally got to play again. upward butterfly airwrap wall plane, knot at 12:00 for more than one beat, stick index fingers into plane, then dragon's tongue both poi on fingers for 3/4 beat, bring pull out and shoot to 45 degrees above horizontal, fall to inverted wall plane to release. cyclops with a moustache- man it's fun biggrin

I can do BTB weave both directions and I'm quite chunky and have short arms wink You'll find your arms get more able to stretch as you practise smile

5 beat butterfly weave, at least in one direction. Almost got the other direction as well, and then turning comes next. Damn those planes have to be tight though!

Butterfly weaves.

Smoothed out a few new weave / buzzsaw type moves.

BTB waist wrap into cross BTB.

How many catches qualifies a juggle BTW?

I was reading the thread on buzzsaw weaves earlier, didn’t really understand the stuff about the notcolmen5 or 5bt butterfly weave, but it left me questioning what I thought was a three beat buzzsaw weave. Anyway I went away and had a play, I learnt something that I think might be a 5 beat buzzsaw weave, not sure though, you kinda do the buzzsaw in it, but your arms are 'overlapping', and you have to be a little funky with your arms… anyway, that’s quite cool.

Also started to learn btb waistwraps on Friday which happen some of the time on my right side, so im a happy boy.

nice one oli smile

along with the 3bt butterfly weave, btb waistwrap was the mills mess of poi for me - a real breakthrough move.

this weekend i picked up poi whilst by myself.

tis the first time in ages i have done this smile

i learnt fwd and rev 3bt buzzsaw weave and half of the 5bt buzzsaw weave (got it to come inside on left side but the other way just ends up tangled at the moment).

i also spun the windmill the other way for a bit and pretty much fixed my ugly version of btb ww going fwd on the left with bottom carry.

two things i should have drilled a long, long time ago but could never be bothered.

still need to practice the windmill more as it feels really awkward and i am scared for my nose's safety but that brings my btbww count up to 2/4 - two down, two to go... :rolleyes

i do like the way that at the top of this page it looks like bluecat learnt to qualify 3, 4 and 5 balls all on the same day.

now that would be some quick learning ubblol

7bt forward weave - ugly and pointless, but a bragging point nonetheless. Also I'm getting fully isolated 5bt forward and reverse weave with turns down. It looks cool as hell. The next time I light up I'm going to spend the entire 8 minutes just doing that series of moves.

Speaking of burning and injuring oneself. The last time I spun fire I did a move for the first time. I thought I had invented this move as it's so silly, I couldn't fathom anyone else doing it...until I saw Nix? doing it in COL4. I'm talking about bouncing the poi off one's forehead. It's a lot of fun with fire and it helps save money on haircuts too. The only thing to worry about are the black dots on your forehead.

picked up a fire rope dart for the first time t'other day.

among other the usual throws/ wraps etc.. managed to wrap it about 4 times round my body + off again the other way with a kind of hula hula movement... feeling inspired by this i went for an insane neck wrap and overcooked it! (not to mention my head)
