Tell us all about it! We love hearing about our fellow poiers/staffies/misc. toyers succeeding with new things biggrin

It's just hard to keep up with it all sometimes, so if we keep it together you'll be certain to get a little feedback.

this weekend was like an explosion of new tricks (or new variations of old ones)

TTN to mexican wave and back
a large number of wrap combos (yes, i finally started throwing wraps back into my routine....it's been so long i forgot some of em)
i learned a new grab and hit (not quite a wrap, but similar to get it to change directions)

i love dating someone who kicks my butt to get practicing....i learn all sorts of new stuff! ubblol

I was always scared with my mother's obsession with the good scissors. It made me wonder if there were evil scissors lurking in the house somewhere.

with balls:

i learnt some multiplex thingys ala bill berry.
a 'catapult' - sweet hacky-type pickup that is just too cool for words.

a great 2b trick (surprisingly not learnt in the extreme 2b workshop but rather on the sunday afternoon in jay gilligan's 'things not to try and learn at the end of a convention' workshop).

new triple trick with clubs: triple, sync single spin and reverse spin with the other two clubs. learnt this and then the next day watched bill berry doing it on both sides continuously with the sync opposite direction throws as doubles ubblol

tricks i caught only once during the convention:

1 up gambol (cascade -> quad -> forward roll -> cascade).

silly malte trick: throw a quad, turn to face opposite direction and quickly throw both clubs sync in single spins -> turn back round and catch the quad.

and i got three throws into 4b high-low shower eek biggrin

new 5b record of 48 (grrr).

yay! 5bt btb forward and reverse with consistent transitions between the two.

strange - i always thought i would never nail btb moves cos im so inflexible - whereas it seems to be more based on technique that flexiblitly.

four beat TTN!! Almost consistently. My stupid stupid left hand still gets confused sometimes, so it'll be a while before I try it with fire. But who cares about fire - I can do a four beat thread the needle!
Yay for me!

stupid crossed arm monkey thingy

umm
i suppose i'll have to forgive that... i can't get angry with you after making you batter yourself around the head then getting you to darn my poi.

i got a few btb crossed arm turns going on last night
and some other contorted pireoutte business

and if those weren't silly enough already - a horizontal between the legs tangle with double knee recoil wrap. In case you're having trouble imaging what that looks like: it looks quite silly.

In fact the only thing i can think of that looks sillier is not being able to do it properly when you try to show it to people redface

BTB waistwraps
Forward BTB

Also try just turning into it from a forward 3bt weave.

Hint: extentions on BTB weave look nice.

Have fun weavesmiley

stalls where the poi stops, and then starts again, but still going the same way.

also a way out of tangled buzzsaw on the same side as you went into it, involving letting go of one of youre poi while it untangles and then catching it again.
