i was wondering if new zealanders liked vegemite!
because i thought it was just australians, but when i went to new zealand in grade 6 the hotel had little sachets on vegemite. is that just a hotel catering for aussies, or do you eat it too?

and also for that matter any other non-aussies who like vegemite? (there is a japanese guy at my school who does, but he's the only non-australian i know)

i would have changed ***** to phallus, and claire to petey Petey

Well, some like vegemite, and it's ok, like a Diet Pepsi is ok if you are thirsty...

But, if you want the full bodied, strong-willed flavour of the gods, then get some Marmite instead! (Besides, marmite was the original anyway)...

Hang on though, are you guys differentiating between marmite from England and the real deal?? (ie the stuff you get in Nz!!)
I hadn't had any in a couple of months and went to the Kiwifruits shop in London...heaven!
I reckon the English stuff tastes like vegemite

I said perhaps, and thats FINAL.

English marmite tastes like vegemite?!?!

Vegemite isn't very common in England, but I've tried it and it's nowhere near the power goodness of Marmite!!!!!!!

there's nothing quite as fulfilling as a tasty airwrap

for the confused internationals, 'mites are black, salty, slightly tangy, slightly bitter yeast and vegetable extracts. there's no easy way to describe them cos they don't taste like anything else. the sourness / saltiness / sweetness ratio depends on the mite, but vegemite (the original ?) is the most hardcore followed by marmite which is mellower and more saltier followed by promite which is distinctly sweeter.

Vegimite is alright, but nothing special.. but i suppose its like Mayo on your fries, its something you have to give a chance to really appreciate.

IT'S DISGUSTING!!!!!

My weirdo boyfriend likes promite... *vomits*

I personally like Vegemite - spread thinly on toasted turkish bread. My mum used to make me vegemite, lettuce and cheese sandwiches when I was little... dunno if I'd be into it now.
