Hey ya`llI`m wondering how many of you smoke cigarettes on a regular basis? I smoke far too many of the danm things and always find that they stop me from doing the things I want to do (physically and financially!)I find sometimes that I will stop doing poi to spark up a cigarette and have a chill, but when I try to go back to my much loved poi I feel weak and unable to do so!I want nothing to stop me from doing poi, especially something that also damages my health! I must be stupid/addicted.So here is my proposal.... Who wants to give up smoking cigarettes with me? I`m gonna quit very soon but could do with a little moral support, and some people to give up with me. Anybody with me? or are you all one step ahead already?Peace, Love and Light.*TOUCH*

Hey Touch,You definitely have my support. I started smoking again when I did a gig in Vegas. Something about that town! I quit again a few weeks ago. It can be done and you'll be much happier for it. Two words of advice - NICOTINE PATCHES! Best of luck. Let us know how it's going. Diana

hey touch. i know this may seem a wierd reply but here's my story:i love to smoke. I do however hate the bad side effects frown (especially bad fitness, weakness etc as you said)so what i do is only temporarilr quit.i'll stop for say,, erm,,, 2 weeks; let my body (and lungs ) have a quick chance to heal a little bit and give my body a chance to catch up with itself. This worked for me because after 2 weeks i felt much better, was no longer addicted(although i had planned to go back to smoking after my small rest), i never smoked regularly again. so now i'm fit again, not addicted but can enjoy the odd smoke without feeling worse for wear or becoming addicted again. This way, you body can have a chance to heal, you become 'unaddicted' and after a while you can return to smokin the odd cig/rolly (whatever), gain the full enjoyment, without relying on havin to smoke loads a day. good luck if you want to give up "cold-turkey", but hey, one day at a time. grin

You have my support, Touch. I stopped smoking in january. Sometimes I still have that urge to smoke but I control myself. My boyfriend and my best friends smoke, all of them. Its hard, but I did it...I'm no longer addicted and my body feels much better. I can even hold my breath for almost a minute now!! (hehehee..)So, Touch, remember that, if you really wanna do that, go for it. Use your will power. Here's some advice: everytime you want to smoke, drink a glass of water. It doesnt work every time, but it will help. And remember you have all my support!! Good luck!

The best replacement I know for smoking cigarettes are electronic cigarettes . Benefits of its are multiple: no secondhand smoke, bad breath, yellow teeth, smoke stains on walls. Its still give me my relaxing nicotine. I use them for 2 weeks and I’m very satisfied with the results. Advantage is that you save money and health problems. Try it! wink

i was supposed to say No?!? Damn, i knew i got that one wrong!

Now I'm a feller with a heart of gold
And the ways of a gentleman I've been told
The kind of guy that wouldn't even harm a flea

But if me and a certain character met
The guy that invented the cigarette
I'd murder that son-of-a-gun in the first degree

It ain't cuz I don't smoke myself
And I don't reckon that it'll harm your health
Smoked all my life and I ain't dead yet

But nicotine slaves are all the same
At a pettin' party or a poker game
Everything gotta stop while they have a cigarette

Smoke, smoke, smoke that cigarette
Puff, puff, puff and if you smoke yourself to death
Tell St. Peter at the Golden Gate
That you hate to make him wait
But you just gotta have another cigarette

Now in a game of chance the other night
Old Dame Fortune was a-doin' me right
The kings and the queens just kept on comin' round

And I got a full and I bet 'em high
But my bluff didn't work on a certain guy
He just kept on raisin' and layin' that money down

Now he'd raise me and I'd raise him
I sweated blood, gotta sink or swim
He finally called and didn't even raise the bet

So I said "aces full Pops how 'bout you?"
He said "I'll tell you in a minute or two
But right now, I gotta have me a cigarette"

Smoke, smoke, smoke that cigarette
Puff, puff, puff and if you smoke yourself to death
Tell St. Peter at the Golden Gate
That you hates to make him wait
But you just gotta have another cigarette

(Ah, smoke it! Hah! Yes! Yes! Yes!)

The other night I had a date
With the cutest little girl in the United States
A high-bred, uptown, fancy little dame

She loved me and it seemed to me
That things were 'bout like they oughta be
So hand in hand we strolled down lover's lane

She was oh so far from a cake of ice
And our smoochin' party was goin' nice
So help me cats I believe I'd be there yet

But I give her a kiss and a little squeeze
And she said, "ah, Marty, excuse me please
I just gotta have me another, cigarette"

And she said, smoke, smoke, smoke that cigarette
Puff, puff, puff and if you smoke yourself to death
Tell St. Peter at the Golden Gate
That you hate to make him wait
But you just gotta have another cigarette

Smoke! Smoke! Smoke! (That Cigarette) is a Western swing novelty song largely written by Merle Travis for Tex Williams and his talking blues style of singing.[1] It stayed on the charts 23 weeks, reaching #1 in July 1947. On the Popular charts it became a number one hit in August 1947 and stayed at the top of the charts for six weeks.

He made a stereophonic re-recording of the song for Capitol in 1960 on the LP album Smoke! Smoke! Smoke! [2].

The song can be heard in the opening of the 2006 film Thank You for Smoking.[3] It has also been covered by Sammy Davis, Jr., Willie Nelson, Phil Harris, Jimmy Dean, Commander Cody, Asleep at the Wheel and a few others.[4]
