Evidently he's using the crappy low-quality CompUSA discs...
Myself and my friends have gone through our own period of artistic CD destruction... from microwaves to karate chops, you name it and we've probably done it to a CD.
Did you know you can bend a Sony CD (dark blue color on the burning surface) all the way over on itself to where the ends touch and it won't break? Comparatively, CompUSA (discs so poor in quality you can SEE THROUGH THEM) and Imation discs have very low tolerances in the plastic. Memorex falls somewhere in between in terms of toughness. Oddly enough, the thickness of the metal surfacing on the cds is directly proportional to the tensile strength of the plastics used, whether that's related I don't know but the relationship is noticeable.
In short... I say buy Sony CDs.
Must salute the man though, I never tried such a thing with a Dremel tool before. Ahh the life of bored college students

At work we have this really cool machine for making CDs unreadable (kind of like a shredder but for CDs). Running them through it multiple times produces a really bendy piece of CD-shaped plastic

Yeah yeah. This was done not too long ago on a TV show called Myth Busters on Spike TV I believe. This guy is just a wanna be.
