I think this would have to be

Imagine by John Lennon - a beautiful song with incredible sentiments!

My favorite song tends to change from week to week, depending on my moods, but if you go by what songs have stood the test of time...

"Rime Of The Ancient Mariner" - Iron Maiden
"Wildside" - Motley Crue
"Moonlight Sonata" - Ludwig van Beethoven

Dance like it hurts; Love like you need money; Work like someone is watching.

Never criticize someone until you've walked a mile in their shoes. That way, when you DO criticize them, you are a mile away, and you have their shoes.

Favourite would have to be

Three is the Magic Number, not the original (although it is FAB!) but the cover by Blind Melon. It's a shame Shannon indulged so much in drugs they took him but would he have been the same without them?!
There's so few voices in this world that could convey emotion like he could.

Let's relight this forum ubblove

I have sooo many.... Here's a few

1) Save Tonight by Eagle Eye Cherry
2) Piano Man by Billy Joel (?)
3)I think it's called Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong
4) Every Rose Has It's Thorn by Poison

Ok, that's a few + 1. I could keep going but I won't do that to this cool thread.

If I really have to pick:

Third Uncle, by Brian Eno. I loved the Bauhaus cover of this song - thought it was rockin' and powerful... until I heard the original, then I thought it was trivial and weak. For a song written in the late '60, the original version is way ahead of it's time.

btw: Fly me to the moon was my father's favorite song! (He was actually an astronaut during the Apollo era, beleive that or not, though he had to wait till 1985 to actually fly - on a shuttle of course)

psst, Psylent Bob, Teenage Kicks was by The Undertones. Its also the favourite song of a man who's introduced me to most of my favourite music - the legendary John Peel

so anyway, favourite song, eh? erm...

when i'm then it's "why hip hop sucks in '96" - DJ Shadow

when i'm then it's "Century of Fakers" - Belle & Sebastian

Cheers Sim

That's been bugging me all day!

Apparently the master of all tunes, John Peel, is doing a DJ set @ Fabric on Friday. Sounds like it should be cool.

as long as he doesn't say anything, his voice always used to send me to sleep and I'd miss the best songs!
