Just out of curiosity, what is everyone's favourite band/artist? Don't worry you can have more than one!

System of a down and Barenaked Ladies come to mind... but i like alot of other stuff...

Ladies and gentlemen, this is not a trick, this is a stunt. The difference between a stunt and a trick is that a trick is something that tricks or fools the audience, a stunt is something that only an idiot would do -Ivan, Ash Circle, 10/04/03

Ack! There's so many. But I'll name a FEW, I swear:

System of a Down (seems to be popular), Nightwish, Coldplay, Marilyn Manson, Gackt (*drools*), Malice Mizer(*continues drooling*), Our Lady Peace, Sarah Brightman, Jack Off Jill, Linkin Park, and pretty much ALL techno, oh, and David Lanz. Lanz is an AMAZING pianist.

Whoot, there's a bit of what I listen to. ^__^

Leningrad, Juno Reactor, Rob Dougan, Radiohead (before they started with the guff they pump out now), Sparklehorse, Neutral Milk Hotel, Elysian Fields. Many more, some I'd be more willing to admit to than others.

There is a slight possibility that I am not actually right all of the time.

I tend to fluctuate between genres and old favourites and new, depending on mood, day of the week, what's new etc.

Right now it would be....
Quantic
Thievery Corporation
Peace Orchestra
Grandaddy
Neil Young
Groove Armada
Queens of the Stone Age
Fila Brazillia
Godspeed You Black Emperor

an on and on and on.....

My mind not only wanders, it sometimes leaves completely smile

Hmm, well at the moment it would be (in no particular order) -

Levellers
Morcheeba
Moloko (they were amazing at glastonbury!)
Afro Celts
Souad Massi
The Dohl Foundation
Beth Gibbons (just great in everyway possible!)
Portishead
Lemon Jelly
Dire Straits - seem to be listening to them a lot

And soooo many more!

i like these threads.

it says all this in my intro but i wanted to show off here about the fact that by next thursday i will have seen a perfect circle twice in just three weeks

i saw a band called the a.m. last night. the drummer and guitarist are from jeff buckley's old band. unfortunately, without jeff i don't like what they're doing now.

'twas worth a try though

oh.. thanks pink poi.. forgot prodigy.... hmmm... Reading last year.... prodigy live with 90,000 odd people..... loud as it got..... beautifull.....

speaking of faverate bands... does anyone else get really elitest about the bands they listen to? like you don't want other people listening to your bands who you dont think are "worthy" enough. i listen to a lot of noisecore/ dark ambiant kinda stuff.... and i hate it when i find people i know who just "like" it... YOU DON'T FEEL THE NOISE!!!!! YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND!!!!!

also... how about bands/ songs that have changed your life? cliched i know.. but i love finding out about peoples ideas about "good" music.

Wow, I started a fairly popular thread... just lil ol' me... --vague astonishment--!

Many many good bands on this list, props to all the good music taste on HoP!!

ooh someone mentioned Prodigy at Reading last year - pretty cool! Hey slight change of topic, seeing as Reading Fest got me into poi - HOW BALL-CRUNCHINGLY AMAZING was it this year? SOAD followed by the mighty 'tallica... emerging battered and bruised and very sweaty from the SOAD pits only to handbang furiously throughout Metallica's set... or skanking madly to Smoke some Shit at King Prawn... spazzing out to Funeral for a Friend... rolling foot-longs and 'special' hookah... ah the memories...
