Then they got the super pursuit mode and the car went REALLY fast.

Raphael96 is right, the show was Automan. The car was a Lamborghini Countach outlined in blue neon. The car, and all of Automan's vehicles, were created by Automan's sidekick "Cursor."

But I could be wrong.

Raph was right Dan, it was Automan, and the car was a lamborghini (sp?). Though I can totally understand how you can think it was Tron, a household favorite. By the description it fits perfectly.

While I have to say that I feel that among the action shows in the 80's the A-Team should be the winner...and if we are talking sci-fi, which is what Charles initial debate is based on then "The Other World" should be on the list (Action, Parallel Dimension and wholesome family values...who can beat that?)... in the current debate, Knight Rider needs to win.

I love the fact that KITT used to chastise Michael. And to a *very* young girl, Hasselhoff is far better on the eyes than Borgnine or Michael-Vincent (I have grown and since realised that none were really all that great). Watching the car upstage Michael was awesome, loved watching the bullets ricochet off KITT, and it pulling into the back of the semi whilst in motion, that was cool.
I am not impressed by flying tin wooshing around and blowing stuff up. If I wanted to see that in the 80's...I just went to see Top Gun, which had a good story, better eye candy and action.
But then again, what do I know? I'm just a grrrrrrrrrrl

In other words, in terms of this debate (which is rather limited imho) I vote for Knight Rider!!!!

I know that Airwolf got some tail indeed but Michael Knight was THE lady's man. Airwolf didn't think or talk... and it could easily be gunned down by a modern day apache (which I think I'd prefer to a slow 80s chopper anyday.)

But I digress. Hot babes ALL THE TIME... Tight leather jacket, perfect hair and a killer car with an attitude. Is there anything more an american 8 year old could wish to obtain?!

Posted:NO WAY MAN!!!! You Can't invalidate my vote!!!! The fact of the matter is, that Knight Rider kicked so much metaphorical (and real) butt that there's no way any TV show could possibly even come close to matching it's inherent greatness. Even if any did come close (especially ImpWolf) there's no way I'd ever admit it, i'd most likely just lie and stick with Knight Rider - so you'd never know anyway!

Actually I just had the unfortunate pleasure of listening to EarWumf's intro theme - and it was more than enough. Too much, if you will. So on that basis I DEMAND my vote be re-included. I've had my taste of AirWimp and it was bitter at best(and kind of peanuty).

I'm goin crazy here man!! This is discraceful. What sort of society are we living in where a mans vote doesn't count!?!??! Is this not a democracy? Seems like a dictatorship to me! You think you can silence the voice of the people? You think you can push us down? YOU WILL NEVER WIN!! I'LL TAKE YOU ALL, #$ TAKE YOU ALL I SAY@!@#$ ARRGH! *flips out*

Any helicopter with a special stealth mode where the blades make no noise at all, therefore defying every bit of physics going, trumps a mere sentient car any day. We even did the aerodynamic calculations as part of A Level Physics, sad or inspiring? you decide.

Posted:Airwolf was most deffinatly the coolest TV show, anything with halsalhof in is not cool. but Kit was the coolest vehcal. anything that gets to ocasionally flert with ladies whilst having more poke than its driver has to be cool.
the thing is though that airwolf was more gritty and had the whole lone wolf aspect with hawk goinging on that made it cool, and the celo scene just made it great.
i have heard remorse though of a remake of knightrider though which would be amazing especially if they up dataed the car to the modern world and the like!
the reason Airwolf was not as popular was because of the fact it was a bit darker and more in conflict between good and bad! people actually died on airwolf and you always had that feeling that hawk hated having to do it and that lead to the dark mode that ran through it. in Knight Rider evryone preety much servived and there was always a happy chipper ending that was so fake, there were simjlar in airwolf but not quite so camped up!

Put another one up to the Wolf.

P.S and the Wolf music is diffinatly the best i want club remix, hard house style though! anyone who mixs please have go and have fun!!

What you don't know won't hurt you? well i intend to get to know as much as possible so that i can make sure no one else has to so they carn't get hurt.

Posted:It was neck and neck with eight votes for Airwolf, and eight for Knightrider; but fire heart has tipped the balance and we're on: -

Airwolf 8
Knightrider 9

There's no losers here, both series were suberb and the only question is which was best; despite being in the Airwolf camp I also enjoyed the odd episode of Knight rider.

In fact I was so impressed by the sweeping LED light thing on the front of the car that I intend to have one installed on the front of my coffin when I die (though at that particular funeral it will most definitly be the Airwolf theme ringing through the church, I don't want to look stupid on my final voyage!)

I've just gone through the threads and made an interesting observation.

The Airwolf supporters are simply saying that they consider it to be better than Knight rider, whereas some of the Knight rider fans have been a little insulting towards Airwolf and resorted to childish put downs.

Obviously it's just a small sample, and we probably shouldn't read too much into it, but it's looking like children who watch Airwolf tend to grow into more mature and well rounded personalities than Knight rider watchers, who tend towards being bitter and twisted.

I'm not saying that makes Airwolf the better series, but it's something to consider for those of you who have yet to vote.

Posted:OK, Nightrider theme tune was miles better than pants Airwolf thingie that barely anyone remembers, but, Airwolf has the adventage that after the series was cancelled (anybody gues why?!) Jean Micheal Vincent became a sucessful porn star befor moving back to crappy daytime TV series. That's way cooler than having crap 'Pop' songs released in Germany!

Anyway, did anyone used to watch Boy Meets World? The teacher Mr Feeney (or however it was spelt) was the voice of Kitt!! Strange but true.....

Thanks for putting the some in there! I would've pouted for a week if you had've said all!

It is Mr. Feeny! I knew I recognized the voice but never actually sat to think about it! Ace!

Try saying Hello Micheal whilst thinking about Mr Feeny and I bet you can't say it without sounding like KITT, you'll even slow the gap between the syllables....go on try it!
My friend Micheal hates us cuz we can't say hello without sounding like we've just been thrown into an 80's tv moment! :-)

it's the simple things....

Posted:there is now nightrider even come close to Airwolf! for a start airwolf had ace glowing rockets that you could see on screen when fired, and and i would like to point out that it was not a massive corp that created a crime fighter, it was a small compant that wanted to help ppl, to be nice!

Unlike the fake nightrider, who was at any time ready to fal loff the edge and go bad.....Airwolf would never do that!

Plus michael knight was nothing but a corp hitman with a blackcar....plus everyone in history has has a cool car (if you can call that black pile of spare parts cool.....how many people had a ultra hard core attack gunship helicopter for help those who needed it!

i rest my case....and airwolf is back on top?

ps i am sorry for comming into this thread so late, but i had to wait till the critical point!
