It's my birthday today - I'm 21+1...hehe
It's not going as I had planned.....
My family always makes a big deal out of birthdays at home and this is the first time I havent been able to go and see them for a weekend near my birthday cause I'm an RA at college and I'm supposed to stay here....
I love all my friends to pieces here, but I'm missing my family and friends back home TONNES today.... *sigh*
I just got home from town buying a couple of books to find an almost completely empty block....
Where the hell is everyone??
A few people just came running into my room, said 'we come empty handed, but you'll understand later...' hhhmmm...
I'm bored and not enjoying my birthday much at all....
I'm going out tonight with a bunch of people though so that should be good fun....
Anywayz, just needed to get that out...! hehe

i had the same feeling when i turned 21 not to long ago (About month)...so the night went on and it got better for me

Just a bit of an update here....
The 'later' bit that I had to wait for definitely made my day...!
I was having a pretty terrible day until just after lunch, I was blindfolded and carried out into our block's common room....
My block had all decorated the room, they had this MASSIVE chocolate cake (I SWEAR it was the size of a small coffee table!) and this massive card with SO many signatures on it...!
Plus, they handed me a voucher for $50 for Kmart and....*drumroll*.....A DVD/VCR player....man, I nearly died!
Then I went out that night with $50 to spend on alchol, came home with $50 and was very very tipsy.... yay for birthday drinks! hehe
Anywayz, so it worked out pretty darn well in the end...!

if its any consolation i had a pretty dull 22nd birthday last week too. It coincided with the last weekend of term, so most of my friends had left uni and gone back home the day before (lightweights!).
I didn't get a suprise party, a chocolate cake, or a dvd player for that matter, but after a non eventful day i did manage to coerce a few remaining people to my house in the evening and got completely wrecked on beer and vodka/schnapps/tequilla smoothies, so it wasn't all bad

After 21 birthdays as far as i can see become less about celebrating and more about feeling old. Luckily i've started socialising with HoP people now who generally have a few years on me, which makes me feel young again
