was that early in the training week? i was learning insane double staff stuff from a guy called mat, hope he's going again, that was the first time i saw a lot of the stuff he was doing, and i *may* not have tried any of it since then so i need a bit of a refresher smile actually i need to make some new contact staffs as well.

did you perform at all?

Yeah i think it would have been around then.

Yeah i have started performing a lot more in the last year or so, I started performing in a fire troupe about three years ago but now i mostly do non fire circus stuff. Not performing at Tassie, though i think a few of us Canberra crew might do up a little act for the renegade stage. Do you?

not really. i did go in the fire show at the last festival though which was fun, but i dont think i'll do it again as it took up too much time and i wasnt learning much.

that said i probably spent too much time chilling in general.

Yeah, i didn't do the fire show last year for that reason. I would much rather spend the time going to workshops.

I think i'm actually going to spend a little more chill time this one because last time i went way too strong on the first 2 days and i was so so dead.

I'm really look forward to doing some more specialised workshops this time last time i mostly did a bit of every thing.

Eeeeeep i can't wait!!

varied, quite a few but it depends if you mean going to the training week or the public festival?

lots of random spinners at the training but last year there wasnt any formal skills based training, only coregraphing a fireshow and what you could learn from the other spinners.

as for the public festival who knows, lots of the good spinners might be watching the shows, might join in if they see you, might teach people if they feel like it.

theres quite a bit of everything if you're in the right place at the right time.

i think its only the training thats sold out, but you get a discount if you purchase the 3 day festival tickets before December 31st so its worth considering getting in early.

I've just received an email from the festival organises saying that due to cancelations, there're now 5 places open for the training program.

You'd have to email the festival organisers if you want it.

Don't think i've seen anything about workshop timetable. All I know is that there's going to be chinese pole as it mentioned that you have to have proper footwear for it.

Yeah they don't release the work shop time table until you get there beacuse it changes a lot depending on when trainers arrive.

There will be chines pole which was great last year but do bring some sturdy shorts or pants and a tough shirt if you want to do that beacuse it is pretty rough.

I don't know, it's a lot to pay for training in a field. I don't know what workshops are on, who's running them, and what experience those people have in circus or in teaching. So it's pretty much just 500 AUD for training in a field.

I can go to the Edinburgh Arcobalance and Aerial Convention for free as well, which makes it seem quite expensive...

well yes you could, but you wouldnt be going to basically the best australian festival if you went to the edinburgh acro and aerial convention would you? and i suspect you have many more opportunities to go to that than you do this.

i believe their website names some of the performers going, which from experience also means they will be providing workshops.

not that i can say specifics nor remember who was teaching but i can say some of what was offered at the last festival.

acrobalance pairs
contortion
chinesepole
static trapeze solo and double
swinging trapeze
juggling - ball club box ring hat, patterns, numbers, passing, sharing, contact
diabolo
tight rope
slack rope
a touch of whipcracking

off the top of my head.

Yeah, but none of that sounds better than an EJC, and it would be indoors with some of the best european jugglers/circus artist, for longer and less money. Do you see what I did there?

And there's no particular information on the website that really stands out and leaves me no choice but to go...
