Hi! I've probably got the wrong thread for this (been a while chums...)but here we go...

I work for Circus Maniacs, Bristol, UK and we have a very exciting chance to create the biggest space in the UK for circus.

If Bristol City Council agree, we could be creating the biggest circus school in the country!!

We really need your help in persuading the council that community rather than commercial use is the way to go...

Circus Maniacs would have the run of a giant centre with five different studios which could be opened to other national groups, juggling conventions, workshops and cabarets... cool huh?

We need to show bristol council there is a national/international interest in the project.

If you're interested please visit both www.circusmaniacs.com to see who we are and

https://www.ipetitions.com/petition/circusmaniacsuk

to register your support. There is more information on the project on the petition site. (all international people please don't be offended that you can't specify your country; the site would only let me put on ten choices...)

Anyone who really wants to help can contact me at edd_vicki@yahoo.co.uk for a paper based peition they can take to clubs/uni etc with an SAE to be returned by 24th May.

Bristol City Council have given us an application deadline of 31st May so the online petition will close on the 26th. After this date they will sell it to someone like Wimpy/Barrett and raze it to the ground!!

Please help us make something really special and create more space for the increase in circus interest nationwide!!

love,
vicx

Also signed. Would be great if this goes ahead. I don't live anywhere near this now, but one day I might, and it also helps pave the way for similar things elsewhere.

thanks for the support guys!!

we've got lloyds tsb interested in long term funding plus robin cousins himself is really interested in being a patron! we're working on nick park (wallace and gromit oscar dude)and a few community projects too.

Interested in knowing if anyone would be interested in running spinning classes/workshops/meets there. Not sure bout the fire side but i think we get a big hunk of land with the building so something to investigate for the future...

mr majestik, thats the plan! we hope by having the new site we can eventually sort out some sort of living area; short term to begin with.

theres a big patch of land outside perfect for camping during conventions...

cheers guys! biggrin

Oh yea. We really need a new football club in the world.
It is a dying hobby after all, that we simply don't have enough.

Its a shame this fell through, I'm sure it would have been great!
It makes me quite mad. spank
