Hey everyone, sorry I've been so inactive recently ^.^' Life's been pretty busy recently. I've found out I'm to be the father of a baby girl sometime in late december. Original due date was Dec 20th, but it's looking more towards between X-mas and New Years smile
Anyways, the mother and I are at an absolute standstill for baby names, so we're tapping any resources we can for ideas smile We're not looking for anything exotic. Unique but still sensible smile
Any help we can get would be absolutely great!
Cheers
Gram

When I was in school, I wanted all female children to have names that can be shortened into boys names
i.e.
Roberta - Bobbie
Samantha - Sam
Wilhemina - Billie
Joanna - Jo
Alexandria - Alex
Danielle - Danni
Michaela - Mikey
Francisca (my cousins name) - Frankie
Stephanie (my daughter's name)- Stevie (but everyone calls her Steph. dammit my plan got foiled!)

Always use "so's your face" and "only on Tuesdays" in as many conversations possible

the funny thing with naming a baby is u can chose a name but when they are born u change ur mind quite often i did with all mine, its like instinct of a mother they jus end up looking like a brandon or shay ect

girls names i love are

shikara
shyanne
tigra
tai
dionne
shine
madison
and charlotte (charlie)

girls name or boys name that shortens to....

Lee

biggrin great name

A couple of balls short of a full cascade... or maybe a few cards short of a deck... we'll see how this all fans out.

ohh ohh I like the Idea of kids having a long name that is only used in formal situations such as weddings etc so;

Maharitette (pronounced mah-ha-rette) harriette would be what everyone calls her

I like grace and sasha but can't think of long versions of them

ashely for a boy shortened to Ash

Eve Angela Skasenati Davis-Quirk was born December 23rd, at 2:18am smile

Later that day she was given an Echo Cardio Gram and was given a clean bill of health (dispelling our fears of the possible heart problems).

biggrin Both Baby and Mom are home now and doing great.

EDIT:

For any who are wondering,

Angela is the name of her mother, and it's tradition on her mother's side of the family to have a Mohawk middle name to celebrate and preserve their Native heritage. Skasenati means "New Name, New Family, New Start".

And we just hyphneated our last names in alphebetical order for the last name smile
