not seen the vids yet - my connection is down frown and i don't think the owner of the pc i'm using would appreciate me downloading lots of big videos, but...

kinda agree with garfield on this one (though perhaps not quite with how he expresses his feelings smile).

gatto is clearly a better technical juggler than garfield. but if gatto doesn't care about competing anymore why does he find it necessary to release a vid that would be his wjf entry if he did compete?

if you read gatto's faq he comes across as far more of a prick than garfield. and i suspect garfield's comments are made to fit in with his stage persona, whereas gatto actually seems to mean what he is saying.

i've seen bits of some of garfield's performances on video and i've seen gatto perform in person and i certainly prefer garfield as a performer.

just me thinking this, or does anyone else agree?

as far as i can tell, he did that because he has been persistently been baited by garfield prior to and following the wjf competition last year.

garfield basically just kept saying (admittedly in a pretty entertaining fashion) that gatto wouldn't enter because his claim to being the "world's greatest juggler" was false and that he couldn't back the statement/title up.

so anthony records a few of his practice sessions and easily shows that garfield is talking out of his arse.

gatto does seem a bit aloof but it is obvious that if he took the time out of his show schedule to compete, the result is pretty easy to predict...

SO then, who are the most fascist jugglers around?

Cos i've met some really rude ones,

I'm thinking perhaps we could set up a juggling competition, way beyond skill or talent, where the winner is the one with the most fiercly fascist ideals, then we could make some nice awards and a little webpage to go with it. smile

i think most people would agree that gatto would beat garfield in a wjf style competiton, as i said gatto is clearly a better technical juggler.

but i strongly dislike gatto's attitude. he comes across as thinking he's too great to compete in a competition with other jugglers. same thing with him not going to conventions anymore. to me it sounds like he thinks he is too good to attend such things. what's that about?

in terms of who is the best juggler out of gatto and garfield, to my mind it is clearly garfield because he is entertaining. if garfield really meant the things he says about how great his juggling is then he would just prance about on stage doing a long sequence of very difficult juggling tricks, much like gatto does. but instead, garfield comes up with lots of silly tricks and says lots of funny things making his performances very enjoyable to watch, and making me think he doesn't take his juggling quite as seriously as he'd like people to believe.

i think gatto deserves far more mockery then garfield does.

edit: after firepoise's earlier post i thought i'd just edit this and say that that's only how i see it, and add a smiley face at the end just so no one gets upset: smile.

just tried to read all of your link coleman and gave up halfway through. does that mean i won't be able to take part in the campfire debate? that's not fair, it won't be a debate unless i'm there - what fun would it be if everyone was sat around the fire agreeing with each other? ubbrollsmile

p.s. for anyone interested struggler's first post about halfway down the link gives the best pro-gatto argument. i've not found a decent pro-garfield one there yet.

i your humble opinion of course, right pre? ubblol

define 'best'.

because there is a lot of subjectives in that definition - i would say that in each of your categories (balls, rings clubs) there are many people who could be considered 'the best' gatto, dietz, lucas, ben beever, peter bone, toby walker...

imho, gatto is the best all-round technical juggler (i.e. taking into account overall technical ability with balls, clubs and rings) alive today.

Golly. there are juggling celebrities.
I juggle myself- no, that isn't right. I myself juggle sounds pretentious though and saying I juggle balls or I drop clubs is almost redundant.
AnyWAY, I juggle but I hadn't come across fan followings or for that matter love/hate followings within the community before.
