Recently found these and was merely wondering if anyone has any experience with them. Could use some suggestions cuz Im really only able to do it in a weave (and sloppily cuz I think I need to adjust the balance on my poi for them to work properly).

Let's turn those old bridges we crossed into ashes.

I have isolated tosses, where I toss one set and isolate the other poi around it... but antispin? O.o

With anti-spin throws, its the thrown poi that does the anti-spinning. Take, for instance, the common weave throw (ie throwing on each side of a weave) if you do the same thing, but flip the chains over the head the opposite way, its an anti-spin throw.

Throw = Let go (The direction, speed and power is your choice)
how can there be an antispin?

And catching is a different move ubbidea

Ah, but thats the thing... Anti-spin throws arent just letting go. You have to force the poi to flip in the opposite direction that it would naturally flip if you did just let go.

Also, anti-spin throws arent really anti-spinning unless they are traveling in an arc through the air (which is why I suggest the weave throws). If you just flip a poi the wrong way its a reverse throw. Anti-spin always needs two points of rotation. In this case, point 1 is the chain spinning around the head and point two is the whole poi arcing over the still spinning poi.

Sorry for that joke - I couldnt resist hug

Please just be cautious when mixing up terms - antispin is a specific concept and flicking the other direction wouldnt automatically make it antispin.

cheers

This is a wicked idea.

SO you effectively change direction of the poi a moment before the throw.

I'm not sure if it's antispin tho because the center of rotation would have to be rotating in the opposite direction to how the poi are rotating.

Without holding the poi and forcing the antispin i think they will naturally not antispin.

Will definitely be having a play with this.

Umm yeah, wicked idea Icon!

I think that in a fashion it IS antis pin- when releasing usually the poi usually the poi will rotate in the same direction they are released (say clockwise releasing right to left), and they travel in an arc- it woere possible th poi would travel in a complete cirular (or elliptical) pattern, effective spinning a flower type pattern- SO flipping the other way would make it antispin biggrin Just have to really give them a tug (is it possible that this could lead to straight /vertical throws - ie the poi travels dead straight due to the opposing forces its under- that'd be incredible!)

Quality idea, look forward to playing with them smile
