ubblol poi is FAR more dangerous, I've only been hit in the balls by a staff once... and it wasn't by ME

A couple of balls short of a full cascade... or maybe a few cards short of a deck... we'll see how this all fans out.

I've stuck a few more tutorials on my site. Couple of new things but nothing im amazingly pleased with. The beetle is on there, oh and something ive called a propellor prayer matrix horizontal conveyor (its a bit sketchy but you'll get the idea). Shite name but i wasnt feeling very original and it sorta fits the move.

I did film me attempting a vertical substitution matrix but i never quite got it so its not going online yet, maybe in a couple of months ill have it good enough to upload.

Anyway they are all here:
https://inspinerate.com/video/tutorials/april%2007/
havnt been arsed to propperly link them up yet but ill get round to it soon.

I finally got the Halo Roll!!

(Yes I'm back here nailing all the newbie tricks.)

I'm well chuffed. wink

I thought it was quite tricky, turns out I was looking at it in the wrong way. For some reason I though there was an extra rotation between the shoulder blades... I watched the video again, and realised that I already knew how to do it!

Fishtails next...

Edit:

I lied, I went onto the conveyor belt... I've sorta got that too! biggrin Took me a good few hours though.

Hmm, I should start getting back into staff practice... I'll put down the diabolo for a while.

Edit 2:

Learning the Jesus is painful when you get it wrong...

*Rubs jaw*

Maybe I'll try to do the Steve for a while.

I'll join in the newbie posting! I got a jesus a few days ago, although it's really sketchy and mostly goes wrong... I agree with McAlpine, it hurts when it goes wrong

Also, nailed the snes, and managed to turn from the exit into a halo roll (I think). And I finally got the hang of the steve without smacjing myself in the face. Yay!

damn you staff! I haven't touched my poi in about 3 weeks.

strugz, I have special glasses to see you with. Well I wouldn't call them glasses so much as multiple layers of duct-tape to block out the photons reflected off that thing you call a 'face'. tongue

I got half of a SNES, meaning I can't get it to the second shoulder after I get it round my neck. Off to look at the videos again I suppose...

Take that bruised jaw!

I still need to do the Steve... I get worried that its gonna hit me hard in the back of the head as it comes down my arm.

What about you professionals? Learned any gravity-defying stunts? wink

Out of interest, do you lads and lasses make your own staffs? Or do you buy them online somewhere?

Mines from a local circus ship, was around £30, comes up to my eye. I added a little more weight to the ends, and I am thinking I needed to replace the grip - as the strange leather material is a bit crumbly and pants.

But all the staffs I see seem to have cushion grip around about 3/4s if the staff, where as my grip only seems to over about 20cms in the middle. tongue

Oh, totally got the Conveyor Belt to Jesus transition, so I'm happy.

Got the SneS, bit wobbly at the halo roll. (Read: very wobbly)

And Fishtails are still a mystery to me.

But I'm slowly getting there... just need to practice more.
