Im talking about the rediculous ammounts of posts that come up time and time again about:

What tunes to spin to (groan)

How to get Coloured flames (louder groan)

What fuels to use for ddifferent fire stuff - spinning and breathign mainly (you get the picture by now)

So why do we just not have one Sticky and official thread for each of the repetative posts, in the relating forums?

This means, when anybody is lookjing for answers, they will see straight away the relating post at the top.

If you are unsure how to make sticky threads...please go [Old link] .

ubbangel

But is that not a good idea?

I think if the threads were clearly labeled like "Music to Spin To" - "How to make sparkly poi" etc. they'd get read... The FAQ's probably don't get read much as they're a bit vague in their title.

That, or I'll have to post in every thread and tell people to look at my signature wink

The existance of flamethrowers says that someone, somewhere, at sometime said "I need to set that thing on fire, but it's too far away."

How about a welcome note in the pm box of new members with a few helpful links/bits of info on it? Not only on subject matter like flames/wicks/fuel but also on Searching//Pm'ing etc. i.e. the FAQ on your doorstep...

The FAQ does the job but as mentioned above but it seems that most people just skip without thinking.

You would defo read it if you were directed to My Home right after registering.

Stickys are also a great idea...

A combination of the too,

Useful info from the start in your inbox and sticky threads with useful evolving discussions?

ok so how do i get coloured flames and sparklies again??????

ubblol sorry i had to...........

You can't avoid pain by fencing yourself from it.
Some times you need the help of others more than anything else
But you have to let them close enough to help......
People want to be needed, I found that out too

or... you could have a sticky post that says to look at your signature... and then the signature could refer to the sticky post that in turn referes to the search link to the questions..... or not.

well i think it's a grand idea, at least if they are sticky then they are also at the top of the list and so in THEORY people will read them.... but then again the questions seem to crop up in every single one of the categories, so to be extra sure maybe you need them as stickies in every one....

I don't think I'm helping here, probably just confusing the matter *shut up NOn*

can the forum be programmed to generate a 3D fist that reaches out of the screen and biffs the person trying to post any such questions?

These have existed to a certain extent for a while now, but questions still get asked. I'll update them a bit more, but I haven't got the time to go through everything.

But I promise you something. The obvious questions will continue. People will not read sticky threads, they will not read welcome PMs. People on the internet are impulsive and eager to post. Damn them!!!
