This space is for all those funksters busy improving their technique by learning new moves - made-up or traditional.

Tell us all about it! We love hearing about our fellow poiers/staffies/misc. toyers succeeding with new things biggrin

It's just hard to keep up with it all sometimes, so if we keep it together you'll be certain to get a little feedback.

here a pat on the back in advance from me

oh and I forgot one. I'm not sure what it's called (if it already has a name can someone let me know please) but the best comparison name we could come up with was "contact suicide" as the poi constantly rotate around my wrist/forearm but not wrapped around the arm, the poi are straight and I can get up to about 5 or 6 revolutions before they fall off. I need to make isolate movements to make it work but basically it looks like a devil stick when one rotates around the other. Know what I mean??

They can be in vertical or horizontal planes. Vertical is very hard and horizontal has been much more fun so far as I can do all sorts of body movements and throws etc.

cheers dub thankx been over the spherc and found the thread but there's sounds a little different to mine and mine dont' actually wrap around the arm, merely touch it. Kinda like isolated staff if you catch my drift?

Keep up the hard work Bug, and oli your wibbling was looking damn good the other day.

Bug, that move has no name but there's a vid somewhere, i'll try to dig it out.

double wibble = dibble

Hopefully I'l get to meet poipoipoi Matt sometime and share some doobies and thingumy bobs, although me thinks it'll be more receiving on my part than giving ubbangel

Matt you should coe to Falmouth for tis going to be great...oh yes wink

Me and PiP Matt decided to call that move it Contact Suicide...seemed like a suitable name, and so it shall remain till someone says something better smile

Straight-arm 4 beat TTN. At least forwards on one side, but it's a pretty nifty looking move and I should be able to translate it pretty easily elsewhere smile

Straight-arm as in straight out in front of you. Well except in this case it's more straight out to one side currently - makes it easier to learn I find. Once I can turn then I can get to point it in other directions smile

cool oooo, I like that one..doh, guess I better post some new stuffage..isolated body weaves & butterflies have been the soup du jour this week biggrin Also nailed this buzzsaw separation thing last night on fire, take right arm from buzzsaw, poi heads separate at 3, 1:30, then 12 o'clock, then one beat in buzzsaw, rinse repeat..

poi: reliable wall plane 7bt weave, standing still, not turning the body at all. both directions. and another way of doing a 7 that makes both the other ways i know of doing it the same way looked at from the middle in opposite directions. which would make sense if you saw it. honest.

staff: nice spinny jumpy thing, where you kick the staff, jump over it and then catch it behind the back. and a monkey stick climb thing. which dosen't really fit with anything but looked fun in the video.

Continuous isolated buzzsaw into isolated airwrap and back in isolated buzzsaw. Not so clean and unrealiable but getting there.

Both thanks to Oli hug

Got much better at the propellor contact moves thanks to Elasta hug2 and can now take it up down and sometime pass BTB. Will be greatly improved soon but when will I have time to learn staff?! confused
