Oddly if you don't live in the UK and you price them in the US dollar they are all about $30 +

If you don't mind me asking, why are nomex gloves better than other gloves??

Nomex is very fire resistant, which allows for some interesting possibilities with fire poi.

Kevlar and Nomex are both great for gloves. But the problem is finding gloves that are thin and somewhat tight around your fingers but have only a portion of the finger. I've tried finding it for like ever and could never find it.

The only luck is bad luck.

Do you mean fingerless gloves (misnomer, actually missing the bits over the last 2 phalanges) or something more specialised.

I think you can get Kevlar knit fabric and know you can get thread - if you or someone in your vicinity can sew (not always female - a good friend of ours is a sailmaker) for a customised glove making your own might be the way to go (I use google Au so I'll leave you to find your own, I commend glove pattern sew to your attention).

It wouldn't be particularly cheap for just one pair but you'd have enough fabric for several, or to make something else as well (? a vest).

There's a woman on Etsy who makes custom Nomex clothes, again not especially cheap but it could give you ideas. I have to go to work v soon, I'll see if I can find her page later.

I basically need gloves to:

1) stop getting burnt when i hold my staff

2) to hold juggling balls in my hand and not get hurt

Have you considered leather? It is also pretty hard to burn.

But leather heats up fast and will get very hot on your hand. I've been warned to stay away from leather gloves a number of times so I don't suggest it.

And @Jameth: That's exactly what I mean.

Point. It may be a problem for the second use case, but the first should be fine with leather if one can not find nomex/kevlar.
