normally i spin in jeans, headscarf and...... yeah thats it.
there are some videos of guys (which are oretty good) which are wearing loose clothing. i would like to wear more loose pants, but i am afraid that my (fire) pois will get caught and set my pants on fire.

does someone has some (safety) tips for loose pants?

you are also welcome to post ideas for costumes (i am always searching for something, which makes my shows more interesting)?

I would say the only safety tip is to know where your planes are, if you don't, no baggy pants for you. If you hit them a lot practicing then there is nothing to do but work harder perfecting those planes, until then avoiding the loose clothes.

Mayhaps have a read on clothing for spinning.

On nudity, if you twirl naked and use a fuel with a high flashpoint it should be fairly safe, so long as you behave safely. smile

On the topic of loose clothing, the people you tend to see twirling in quite loose clothing have clean planes, but most of all a very specific style, if lots of pirouettes, between the leg movements and other close poi, maneuvers are your thing, loose clothing isn't for you.

Try practicing with the loose clothing on and see how you go. Also be very sure to check what the fabric is made of before lighting up with it on.

i would say less important than tight/baggy is the fabric used to make the clothes. in conjunction with choice of fuel of course.

I prefer close fitting tops with loose trousers, as I find that allows the greatest range of movement will offering most protection/warmth (often an issue in the UK)

my favourite clothes to spin in are thai pants and a tank top (cos I have a slightly hairy chest and I don't like the idea of nipple burn)

I'd always go for tight top and baggy trousers... as long as you're happy with the materials (shell-suits are a no!) smile

I think I should point out that men and women differ for how well spinning naked works for them, personally I always try to have at least boxers on when spinning, but I guess naked spinning applies the same philosophy as baggy clothes.

i actually think that those are paint can poi, they give a big flame effect without using huge ammounts of fuel. They're basically paint cans with a layer of kevlar wrapped around them.

How about that roll on latex grin . Im sure you would have to be very very precise but that could be cool I would assume maybe even a black light reactive color. I know its fire but still would be wicked looking to see a guy that looks like he ran away from the "blue man group" spinning fire tongue2

Mm, the flames do get hotter than you'd think. If I ever spin in a jumper I always regret it, no matter how cool the air outside is.

How about this one?

I tend to wear a pure cotton poloneck and denim jeans.

I really should tie my hair up. Or try. It is at an awkward length though....

Theres one on my head, usually if I'm using fire, you can adjust the second layer so it sits to cover more. ^_^
