Hey Everyone!

well I thought I would start a thread for the upcoming CG.

All we have locked in for now is the date;

Friday to Monday, 2nd to the 5th October.

www.common-ground.net for info,

MMM CG goodness.

***UPDATE***

most of the tickets are now sold.

ALL TICKETS NOW SOLD

Please do not pass on ticketing info to people who have not bought tickets, if you put money in our account and have not confirmed with Kate, then we will send you back the money minus postage.

It looks like this coming CG09 will be the last big CG that Katinca and I organise for a while (perhaps someone else will take up the torch?) - cuz Katinca and I need a bit of time for travel and getting our land in order. However, we have a lot of very special ideas for this CG which will probably make it better than it's ever been before, so if you are still tossing up whether you want to come this year or not, you really should come.

I've looked into changing my flight and it's proving to be prohibitively costly. I found a really cheap flight to Sydney which is why I can make the trip in the first place and changing my flight will nearly double the price!

I so wish I had checked these dates before I booked my airfare; for some reason I thought CG was in January. So I'm bummed, mostly because it would've been nice to meet you all in person. If you're in Sydney or Melbourne (my two stops on the trip) p.m. me though and perhaps we can meet up anyway!

taken out of context i must seem so strange

we'll need to make sure we dont get the two 'cheese' workshops confused.. i believe bretts poi workshop may not be ideal for some connoisseurs of fine cheeses..

few questions,
first, anyone got an idea of what the plane fares are like from England to uhmm... Melbourne?

Second, does the "kids from 14 to 18 must be accompanied by an adult" thing apply to 18 year olds?

Am thinking this could be a decent start to a gap year popping around the globe tongue2

righty. Question. Can anyone help me think of steriotypically touristy (or not) things to do in Australia?

Wanna see if I can get looaads of interesting things done while I'm out there tongue2

The details for buying the tickets are in the OP.

The other question is a little trickier to answer. It depends on how long you're wanting to stick around. The Great Ocean Road is a fairly big attraction in Victoria. The Grampians are also very nice, they are just inside Victoria, but right on the border between Vic and SA (The festival is in SA)

G'day lovely Adelaide people!

My name is Cat, and I am from Dallas, Texas (sorry). I was in Perth for 6.5 months in 2007 and fell in love with Australia. I'm coming back this year and hope to stop by Common Ground before continuing on to Perth.

And I hate to sound needy, but... is there anyone willing to trade shiney things and hugs for a ride to and from the airport and/or a place to stay during any extra nights I have to/ want to stay in Adelaide?

I'm small and don't take up much space! tongue2

Thanks heaps!

laugh3 nice one, Gnor.

Though it would have been "Stuart" unless it was caught off by a knee to the throat of course, which would have been entirely possible from there!

Edit: Oho! I'll be in the playspace for a lot of the time. If I'm holding poi feel 100% free to come poi with me!
