Are pois for girls cuase every picture of poi spinners i see are girls

One of my favorite spinners I've ever had the pleasure of spinning with is a guy (Havocangel)- mostly because he's just fun to spin with and hang out with.
My ex-boyfriend spun, too.
I actually, as a girl, admit that I got into poi spinning because I saw a hunky guy poi spinning at some awards show during a Madonna performance. It just took finding people who actually knew what they were doing to really get a chance to play with it. Yeah, it's sad, but I was a teenage-hormone-factory at the time.
By and by, I think we've seen this thread before, and the overwhelming conclusion was POI IS FOR EVERYONE! Guys, girls, everyone! I even recall a poi spinner on here who was blind. If you can spin, you can poi!

alot of people say poi is for girls but thats only because it came from new zealand and the girls would dance with poi and the men would dance with sticks
but it is ok for men to poi, i am a maori and some of the boys teach the girls how to do long poi.
i think boys dont have the patience or the need to dance with the short poi.
are you gonna drink that?

Yes, poi is for girls. It says so in the bible and you can be arrested for doing it in some countries.
Playing with staff is FAR more manly anyway.

boys who do poi are known as "poi boys"- which means they are homosexual.

Well I haven't played with my staff in ages. It's all folded up in it's bag.
What about guys who really only have poi to give to girls so they can watch?

You know what's ironic about all of this?
I was asking some native Maoris this question during a Polynesian festival here, and they said "yes, poi is only for girls".

so i guess the true answer would be
traditional Poi is only for the ladies
but the westerised version that you see every one do is ok for boys to do.

LMAO this made me laugh so much because only the other day there was a post asking where all the girl spinners had gone....
I spin poi but i also do devilstick and i am not gay but yeah for some reason girls doing poi well yeah espicaily the small outfits some performers were... All i need say is PLAY 2006 on that one lol

it's an excuse to wiggle lets be honest.
all the men I know who do poi are well girly. Oli has a girly giggle, Si wiggles like a big girl and Garthy likes to dress up in wedding dresses.
