Things NOT to do...

... when getting invited to join a fire-gig wink

- stay up extremely late the previous night

- take the dodgyest equipment possible

- turn up 20 minutes late

- forget your costume

- when invited: hand out your own phone number/ business cards/ demo-DVD's to promoters

- constantly tell everybody that the payment is so f****ing low, you just did it "just as a personal favour"

- tell every other performer you got proposed double of their pay

- tell the promoters you got proposed 5% of what you actually got and that you're extremely satisfied

- jump out on stage completely off the agreed timeline and run over other performers

- spray kero on everybody, including fellow spinners

- never look at the audience and your mates

- turn your back to the audience 95% of the time

- completely withdraw from the music (i.e. play as slow as possible at psytrance and as fast as possible at classics)

- only show 1% of what you're actually capable of and repeat this 500 times

- drop your stick 20 times and still try to get this one particular move right

- leave without cleaning up after yourself and tell the promoters that you will call them a.s.a.p./ they shall call YOU next time they need a fireshow...

wink got it? hug

The existance of flamethrowers says that someone, somewhere, at sometime said "I need to set that thing on fire, but it's too far away."

gasoline; spinning with, spitting, or huffing
claiming you invented something you saw someone else do the day before, they might be there (you know who you are)
heroin
booking a gig by yourself
flaming devil sticks
pissing off a mcdonalds emplyee when you're a customer.

I'll get there too late if I shorten my stride, I'll get there too soon if I find me a ride, I'll never move forward if I try to hide this path that I've troden one step at a time.

If you are invited by another fire troupe, then handing the promoter of that event who hired the other fire troupe your information on their time is concidered rude and unethical.

I've been devil sticking for 12 years. I've had a few accidents, but I don't really care bout em. only people who are crazy (like me) should try them on fire though.
I consider them one of the most dangerous of the fire toys. certain tricks, mostly horizontal ones, the stick can get spinning to a point where it can skip off your hand sticks. while I'm at it, I'd like to add fire nunchucks without knowledge of normal nunchucks to the list. flaming concusions are bad.

I'll get there too late if I shorten my stride, I'll get there too soon if I find me a ride, I'll never move forward if I try to hide this path that I've troden one step at a time.
