I've created a Fantasy World Cup League for Home of Poiers, to pitch against each other the mighty managerial skills of the world's finest firespinners.

The game is free online and hosted by the official UK Football Association Premier League site.

You'll need to register and create a team at https://fpli.premierleague.com

After making your team, click on the 'Leagues' link on the right of the page and enter this code -

Code:
227493-38076

- to join the Home of Poi league.

Ok so I put my team down.
Strange you can't pick any player and you are limited to only a few. Also very strange you can pick 12 players!

with these things it sometimes works out better if you don't really know who is who than if you spend ages comparing what you know about each player

It's worse if you actually have lots of players to choose from... being limited to Premier League made it so much easier!

Anyone who has Cisse in their team might want to think about transfering him as he's broken his leg again, poor bloke.

boo! Oh, and Ballack probably won't play the first match, if anyone has him...

Why are we all being so nice to each other? Where's the good old spirit of wanting to win? wink

Right. Short version: do a search ubblol (ummmm... I mean, check out the "rules" section on their website).

You've managed to build the teams so that's okay.

You can swap players, not sure how many but it says in the rules, between the actual World Cup round of the groups (there's 3 rounds so that everyone in the groups of 4 teams plays everyone, and between those you can swap players, like let's say someone gets injured or you thought to get lots of Iranian players in and realised the team's really no good).

Your fantasy team then gets points for what the players do in the World Cup, like scoring goals or assisting (the more unlikely the more points you get, so you'll get more if your goalie scores than if a striker does), playing at all, playing for more than 60 minutes. Goalies and defence get extra points if they don't concede any goals, and I think negative ones if they do (but again check the rules for that). Then your manager gets points if the team does well, and you also get negative points for red and yellow cards.

So your points are counted, and if you get the most you win biggrin

I hope this is at least a bit clear, it is in my head but I've had 4 hours of sleep, and that usually makes me a bit silly!
