Hey

What do you think are the most visually impressive staff moves? Ones that always get a good cheer from the audience. Such as:

Continual body rotating neck wraps for one.....

Leaving out the purely techy moves such as the classic 'reverse anti spin elbow fishtails bioflips'

What do reckon?

Cheers
Dave

Burnoff? biggrin

Hmm, contact burnoffs.

Any move where the staff spins along it's axis will do, the faster the spin the bigger the burnoff... Consecutive angel rolls where you burn off fuel until the flames reach normal size are my favorite way of starting a burn. This can be very dangerous, producing massive rotating fireballs with you in the centre.

Do not breathe whilst performing trick, your going to be surrounded by lots of fire and fuel mist.

Cover all naked skin.

Goggles, facemask and hat essential.

Practice unlit lots, really drill the not breathing and practice a sequence which takes you away from the unlit mist left hanging in the air.

Really wasn't sure about posting this, please be careful! Not kidding even slightly about the dangers involved... But it is very eye catching and I'd love to know if anyone else is playing with contact burnoffs.

Just any throw....throw it in the air and they think its great. Burn offs as well. But as it says on another thread, some of the techy moves the public don't understand the effort that goes into them, so don't really appreciate them the same as other spinners.

I found in the summer that dropping the staff (catching it on yer foot) and then flicking it back up to catch in a fishtail seemed to go down well.

I thought the "high impact" bit was about moves that involved hitting you very hard round the head.....that always gets a cheer ubblol

whenever I call somebody "gaylord" I mean it in the nicest possible way.

For any crowd: Smoothness, good interesting movement integrated well, funny or interesting manipulation rather than spinning. Covering yourself in fire. Smiling.

Chronofracture - what are these angel rolls? Can you explain? I'll do it safely, I've got a fireman uniform for my girlfriend so I'll wear that for protection.

Timmy - "pain leading to lots blood arr" - are you referring to the fact that your currently prostituting your body for the benefits of medical science (and your bank balance). Ive cleared out one of the common rooms at my med test joint to practice staff in, 4 hours a day baby, I'll be kicking your ass before you know it. Anywho back to my figure of eights.

Comming from someone who dosnt spin staff as of yet, all contact moves are really impressive, the closer to your head, the better, but nothing beats a good burnoff.

Combination Burnoffs and Fire Breathing... Double Fireballs... biggrin (and I would make the words "Fire Breathing" into a link about the dangers thereof, but I don't know how... redface )

Lying on the floor and spinning.

High throws when you do stuff like forward rolls or cartwheels before catching it.

After much consideration, I find that the view is worth the asphyxiation.
