I shall be driving from the malvern / worcestershire area via the M5 for many hours and would welcome a few breaks along the way if people would like to shotgun a space in my lovely little 306? smile

I'm planning on leaving Malvern @ either mid day or 5 in the evening, depending on how much time I can take off work!

Just like to chip in that generators aren't really a great idea...

For 'techs and laptops and (damnyouall) phones there's the barn (you don't have to be staying there to plug in - just know someone who is wink )
Plus, it seems a bit cheeky if the campsite have hook-ups to brgin your own (and daft as they're alot cheaper).

I could add that it's not really in the spirit of Falmouth, but I think that would make me sound like an old-skooler, when I've only been twice, so I won't
(Same as I think it should remain a non-amplified music event, both for legal and spiritual reasons smile )

ditto biggrin

I don't really want to be the owner of anything that runs on oil (part of the reason I don't drive), but it looked like the only option given my measly funds.

Got one of these instead, although the wind turbine to charge it is a bit out of my price range at the moment (but only £250 so I'll get one later smile ).

Charging batteries is one thing. Programming LED poi so they can do sequenced combinations of these (and other) patterns is another, which will need a laptop until the design is finished.

And not everyone likes the kind of music being played, while anyone can join in with a drumming session and have a good time. Bring drums!

Yep, it's a really good idea not to have anything amplified, as it's just an excuse for non spinners to turn up in hoards, as soon as it's mentioned anywhere.

Hmmm. If the fuse at the other end of the hookup has a low rating a UV cannon could blow it. Could be likely, as a trip would stop campers caning electricity with microwaves and electric kettles.

My cannon kept blowing 3A fuses, so was drawing about 720W when starting up (despite being rated at 400W).

The powerpack thing has a built in compressor, so I'm going to bring stuff for water rockets biggrin May also come in handy for airbeds and inflatable furniture wink

I've got a tiny stereo with a couple of 1w speakers. It's small enough that it's no louder than instruments, and may be an option for the beach, or campsite during the day. I've just read all the comments on sound systems from past Falmouth threads, and it can't be any bigger than what was mentioned, and shouldn't attract any attention. I'm also bringing a couple of drums and my ocarina, that I'd much rather be playing, although that may draw attention given the size of one drum umm

Couldn't find any mention of what actually happened, just previous reactions to what was suggested.

I'll bring the stereo, but don't want to use it unless enough people get sick of spinning to drums, like that'll ever happen (I spent the whole of Glastonbury 2003 either spinning or drumming at the stone circle smile Bands? F*** 'em! ).
