Hello

wavehello

hmmmmmm what to write about me as an intro.....damn its make or break time. First impressions are so vital. Oooooo the pressure.

I'm living in South Wales but originate from Essex (No I don't own White stillettos and No I'm not an Essex girl!). I don't bite, I do pinch, I love chocolate and I one day plan on learning lots of stuff I can't do yet.

Hobbies:- include juggling, balls juggleand clubs , Diablo, poi, doodling, music, hating housework (dust is natures way of showing what the burglars have stolen), making things, pulling things to bits (mainly to see how they work) , embarrassing my nieces and nephews (great fun hobbie that all aunties should take up), hugging trees and talking to bees (watch out for the squirrels......they ARE out to get you!)

Ambitions:- Never to grow up. Learn how to burn things safely ubbangel To that ends learning how to poi without stunning myself, blacking my eye or turning myself into a human torch. Learn to play more than one tune on the guitar. Rule the World. Learn to Surf. Conquer my fear of heights. Travel the world in a van with a man named Bob ("why Bob?" you ask...well why not Bob? I'm sure there are loads of nice men called Bob out there! Simons and Johns need not apply).

Boring stuff:- work in sales to pay the bills.

Asena, you'll have to ask Jon that question. I'm guessing the answer will depend on how long ago it was that he had a hobnob fix.

I hope thats not some smutty in-your-endo.... wait, yes I do biggrin

Ye Al, Hoppers are the best for taking you in, feeding you and drving you about, especially long car journeys to falmouth smile

Think you might need some of these at the moment. Life is funny but usually works out in the end, weirdness will resolve in time.

Gayle, things are odd but they will work out for the best. I'm happy my Uncle Ifor is now out of pain, but that happiness will never stop me feeling sad for the loss of him. All the other stuff we talked about will be ok. It will just take time. smile hug

Maus I hope those are gluten free fairy cakes *drool* I could lick the icing off if they are not. I'm not sure anyone would want the cake bits after I'd done though ubblol hug

Tele Tubbies?? Harmless? They always seemed a little scary to me. Like they had a lot of knowledge and just acted like little kids to make us feel safe.

wave hey miss skull, i saw your reply about an industrial sewing machine. canvass is only one option, i would love a wind resistant, waterproof matterial yet i'd like it to be light. canvass is ok but it's heavy as you like wink

How big is this tent going to be? Are you planning on a giant Geo-dome? There are loads of fabrics out there that are both waterproof and wind proof, but sadly most of them cost a lot of money.

that was the plan skully biggrin obviousley i want to keep the costs down so don't really want to fork out for manufactures if i can help it. low cost, lightweight and cost effective is the plan

Good luck fulfilling all those. I think you will find it hard. Lightweight waterproof/wind proof fabric costs lots. I've looked into it for the hooded blankes I make.

what about the blue tarps you can get from the likes of B&Q, homebase etc? the gromit kits are cheap enough............

ok so it may look like a hypothermic boobie ubblol but if they could be sold and the money pumped back in to better matterials etc.............. it's plausable isn't it and hopefully viable

Tarps from B7Q are fairly low grade and puncture easily. Your frame would have to have no sticky out bits at all. They also rustle very loudly. I'm not sure they are flame retardant either... thats another thing you need it to be if it's going to be used for covering.

Sorry to be so negative. I think geo-domes are great I just think you have to be realistic that they are not cheap to make.

Like I mentioned, the wooden one that I listed is only $65 and we used it quite extensively at a festival in America as well as planning on using it at burningman.

Oh wait, of course you saw it, you wrote in it.

Nevermind.

Geodomes are cool. I'd love to build and live in one. I want to have a woodland area and build one in a clearing. Sadly in the UK you are not allowed to do that in the woodlands you can buy. They make you sign a covenant saying that you will not build anything frown I suppose its a good thing really as it protects the woodland areas from development.

Doc??? Did I upset you somehow, or are you offering me a cocktail?
