CLASSIC PROOF
Given A and B are two equal real numbers

on to network problem

I have two xp pro boxes... each is connected to a router and from there to cable internet via a 100t ethernet. one is a notebook. i just got two 802.11g cards, one for each computer, and I want to set it up so that the notebook gets internet through the 100t when connected and through an ad hoc wifi connection when not. i need help getting my desktop to share its connection over the wifi, and help getting the notebook to accept it. I want to make sure I retain docked capabilities and that the notebook makes the switch rather seemlessly, any ideas?

Q:What's the difference between the Great Highland Bagpipes and the Northumbrian Pipes?

yeah, i liked the classic proof, and figured it out,
didnt really look at extended proof, i get confused when i count past three ubblol

as for your network problem, i cant really help you there. (I'm not very good at any sort of computer/networking stuff, but I know a tiny bit)

Am I right in understanding that you need to set up ICS between your desktop and laptop, for when you use your wireless connection, but I am unsure if this cancels out your settings for the laptops internet connection through the ethernet... confused

Maybe this helps, maybe it doesnt... sorry, i dont know much about this, but i want to learn biggrin

surely to be correct it'd have to be

6x9 = (1+5)x(8+1) cuz otherwaise 1 + 5 = 6, then x 8 = 48, then + 1 = 49 to read it straight.

that version says 6x9 = 1 + (5x8) + 1 which is wrong

yeah, thats the hole, but unix doesnt know that smile , and reading it straight, using BODMAS, as all kids are taught (brackets off, divide, multiply, add, subtract), then it works

Going back to your network question, I don't know how to do it under windows, but in general terms, you need to make your PC with the WiFi card in act as a router.

At a guess, on your home network, all your machines are on a subnet, with addresses like
192.168.0.x

Your router has two addresses, an internal one, probably 192.168.0.1, and an external one, which will be a proper valid internet address. It knows that anything that's not going to 192.168.0.x has to be routed out on the external interface (hence router wink )

You need for your PC to have a similar setup - it will have one address on your local subnet, for it's normal ethernet connection, and another address for the WiFi card. You want to configure it so that it knows to route anything on the WiFi interface to the wired interface. From there, you should be able to have two separate connections setup on the laptop, one a wired one, and one a wireless one. The wireless one needs to have the Gateway address set to that of the WiFi card in the PC (unless you have set up the PC to be a DHCP server...)

Hope that helps a little, although it's more likely that you just need to press a "Share this connection" button on the setup for the wireless card. But that's the kind of thing that's going on behind the scenes.
