Ended up going to the rraa.... thing, anyway. Was pretty fun, though I ended up having a bit of a paranoid meltdown (without the aid of drugs, even!) and leaving earlier than I would have liked.
I just have to mention, somehow I never really believed the pacifier thing, and I'm a little startled that it's true...

So I may have the opportunity to perform along with the members of a burlesque/fire performers group in a couple of weeks. It will be my first public performance as well as being my first opportunity to be with fellow spinners. Really looking forward on both accounts!

I would find the stories about it being helpful for some of MDMA's side effects more plausible if there weren't also people in teddy bear outfits and My Little Pony tees.

Too right: I find the ridiculous aspect rather overwhelming, even more so when they carry over to the full baby bedtime theme.
btw, they aren't called pacifiers in Aus, they're known as dummies.

It's usually pacifiers or gum. Back when I was a raver (ok, I still kinda am), it was lolipops for me. I ALWAYS had one in my mouth.

I think that's all over the US. I still vote we change it from Binkies, which makes no sense, to Suckies, because you actually suck on them. Plus, then all the little baby boys would be asking their mommies for sucky sucky

I got in my first fist fight in fifteen years yesterday. Blech.
Also, my girlfriend gave me the "I don't mind being in love with a raver, the important thing is that you're happy" speech a few days ago. Now I just need a fundamentalist church to offer to cure me of spinning to electronic music and it will be like coming out all over again
